I think what makes it worse, in my eyes, is that I knew I was running out of time to do it..and I kept thinking.."Okay, next time. I'll do it next time". All the while knowing that next time might not come..and oh well..I can just repent, if that happens.

I can't do it anymore, that's the catch. :( I lost my opportunity, even though I had countless chances...

..This isn't the first time this has happened to me, either. I didn't learn then. :sigh:

So you think because you can't do it that means God can't either?

Is there only one messenger in the world?

Again, I direct your attention to 1Jn. 1:9

Woob,

The bible is written for everyone benefit. Sarah maybe very young in faith. But she is still a 'watchman' to those who are in her sphere of influence and are junior to her in faith.

It is a not burden. But a duty, a responsibility of every professed Christian.

Read 1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Every Christian is a priest, a preacher of the Gospel. The privilege does not come without the responsibility.

That is a false interpretation of this verse. Please learn how to properly exegete a passage before saying such things! You are placing a burden on her that she does not have to carry!

The passage is referring to Ezekiel (the prophet) as the watchman, not to every member of the Church!

I guess I should clarify this..The person is no longer able to communicate with anyone. (Those who have seen my prayer thread now know who I'm referring to, I guess).

I was the last Christian influence that was around this person for the past years, and did nothing about it. They're basically in a coma and will more than likely die within the next month.

I tend to agree with this, as it's fit much of what I've read. I understand things can be forgiven when repented..but to knowingly disregard what I know is one of my main responcibilities...

Sigh.

DL,

You are getting me very angry right now!

Please read the Bible properly! Take up a course in exegesis! Learn the original language.

Watchman is in the singular, not the plural. It is referring to EZEKIEL, NOT every member of the church!

STOP using Ellen White as a means to tell you what the Bible means!!!

It does not mean what you say it does!

DO NOT PUT THAT KIND OF BURDEN ON ANYONE!

YOU will be held accountable by God for doing this!

I advise you to learn what it means before you say anything else, because if you cause people to stumble and lose hope you will be accountable for bearing false witness against God's word!

Okie, I know you both see this very differently..but I do want to say that we gotta be careful since this isn't in the D&D section. I'd have put it there if I could have, but it's locked still...

I don't want anyone to get in trouble in this thread..

I'm sorry to hear this Sarah.

Sarah, you are forgiven.

Do you know how I know this?

It is because you care.

Let go of that burden of guilt.

Cast it on Jesus.

And please do not listen to what DL said about Ezekiel. His interpretation is not correct.

You know my email address. You can always send me an email if you need to talk. I don't think this is the best place for this.

Woob,

Don't impose your will on others. I didn't even have to know what Ellen White wrote to know who the book of Ezekiel was talking about.

Anyway Woob, I don't want to argue with you. Just make sure your belief is supported with the Word of God.

Woob, Sarah asked a legitimate question about a problem that's very serious.

You may not like all the answers, but they're scriptural too.

And you say you don't like debate.........

Yes, they are scriptural, and they are also not being interpreted correctly!

And don;t you dare throw the debate thing in my face!

I care more for Sarah than any one of you in here!

And I am not going to fill her head with lies, and place a burden of guilt on her that she doesn't have to carry!

I don't think it's possible to care more about Sarah than I do, Woob. You might care the same as I do, but no, you do not care MORE..for that is impossible.

I love her like my sister and I've been very close to her since she came here.

Sarah...let me ask you this...if you knew your dad could hear you right now, even if he couldn't speak up, would you feel any more comfortable talking to him about Christ than you did before he went into a coma?

Honey, your discomfort with him was because of him, not because of you. His relationship (or lack thereof) with Christ is his relationship. Most adults don't like being told anything from people younger than them anyway.

If I were in your shoes, all I'd do, because all I COULD do is whisper in his ear "talk to Jesus, Dad."

No matter when we come to Christ, we still get our penny.

Sarah,

1. Your testimony is your greatest evangelism. There are many ways of reaching out to someone. Was the love of Jesus in you manifested to this person? Did you render service to this person. Look at Jesus' example, He served more people than He preached to.

2. you need to understand all things happen in due season. If the timing is not right, there is nothing you can do to make it happen.

I often think about my mother who is in similar situation. I pray God will soften her heart so I can reach her.

3. I hope you realize all life's success is based on failures. The same goes for Christian walk: learning from your past mistakes and not making them over and over.

I hope you learn a lesson that we all need to learn: not to delay and procrastinate.

Hebrews 3:15 ...
To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts ...

Ecclesiates 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

The wise man here was talking to all who are yet to go into the grave.

Could the thief on the cross do anyway to make right for all the wrongs he did? No except to let Jesus take away his guilt.

Did Paul let his guilt in the death of Stephen stop him from preaching the gospel?

Sara, the choice is yours. Are you going to lament on your past mistake and dwell in the guilt trips or are you going to learn from it and make a decision to change?

And what makes you so sure she made a mistake? What makes you so sure she didn't do what she was supposed to do?

Just because she feels that she was in error that doesn't mean she was.

There is a lot more to this story than you realize!

I agree with T&O. Sarah, why don't you talk to him now about Jesus? Many people came out of coma said they knew when the loved one talked to them. You never know and plus he can't argue with you now.

I think the very fact that this is such a burden on you is because God's working with you on this issue.

Sarah--I bet you 'preached' to this person everyday honey! Let your witness stand as testimony and PLEASE, stop worrying about this. Satan is trying to throw you a road-block.

Rebuke that demon and give thanks to Christ that you were able to witness to this person with love and respect.

OK, you do have a point here.

Before I comment on all else, I have to comment on this..

I have to admit it actually made me smile/chuckle (which is something, amid all I'm going through right now) to see you guys actually arguing over who cares about me more. I know you were both being serious, and I'm extremely touched..but it was just seeing it..I dunno, brightened me up a bit. :)
