I detect a slight flaw in your logic. The writer of Genesis is God. Therefore that which he meant to be taken literally needs to be taken literally.

I HAVE PROVED IT. Why, I welcome you to check out those threads I started about meteors, volcanos and ice-cores and falsify my evidence I hold so dear. But that's the point, isn't it? Edit: I also have fgiven other crazy people the opurtunity to post their evidence on this and other subjects. So far I got a return value of 0. It makes a lot more sense as mythology than as biology. It was probably the presence of so many myths involving virgin birth in 1st century Mediterranean cultures that led the early Christians to apply the same myth to Jesus. Part of the evangelistic effort of the time. In those days virgin birth was a meaningful mythical concept readily understood by most people.

As I said...... First its not 6 days, then its not a global flood......then we move on to virgin birth and probably Jesus wasnt the Son of God....

The only thing you highlight is that thing about volcanoes carbon-exhaust, and given the size of the volcanos this is factual, but I can't give you the exact number. The exact number may be higher, the exact number may be somewhat lower. But 10 gig's is pretty acurate given the evidences I posted in that thread. If you can show me a source that says it's diffrent, please do.

We need to protect those who arent founded firmly in scripture until they are...

Shouldn't young people have a firm scientific education before they dismiss the various scientific disciplines against which fundamentalists pit themselves? How else can they come to a reasonable conclusion?
