  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If a chemical binds to an MCP outside the cell, how does the inside of the cell get the message? When chemicals bind to an MCP or stop binding to it, it slightly changes the structure of the MCP. That is not a specific illustration of what they are claiming as intelligent behavior. Specifically, they show that they communicate, know their own and others which means they can differentiate between themselves and others, they can decide as a group what action they will take, some can hunt in packs and even build towers to hunt from. There are some that actually will kill themselves if diseased and not spread it to the colony.

I said that intelligence gives rise to intelligence and there is no evidence for an unguided, unplanned, and non-intelligent process giving rise to intelligence from non-intelligent matter. I claimed that Bacteria are considered intelligent. I've supported that claim with the sources I've presented.

Since the 'other people' are peer-reviewed scientists that have peer-reviewed papers and are the ones making the claims of intelligence it is only prudent that I answer the questions you have asked as they answered in their own words; my words are not relevant to their claims nor their assessment of Bacteria. My claim that Bacteria are considered intelligence has been proven. You can disagree with their assessment, but it isn't relevant to our argument because my claim is supported by peer-reviewed papers by the scientists themselves.
The problem is that you can't even discuss bacterial intelligence in your own words.

You haven't discussed why these behaviors are not intelligent. You have made assertions and cast accusations but have not really dealt with the actual claims of the scientists at all.
