Irrelevant....sometimes untruths are better conveyed that way as well.No it doesn't but truth is sometimes better conveyed poetically.
Without sufficient evidence, I simply cannot believe that. I would have preferred that you did not quote me a bunch of drivel, but rather said it in your own words and left it at that. I care not for biblical verses. It is the belief that Jesus Christ, as God in the flesh, sacrificially died on the Cross for the redemption of our sins; and that all we have to do is acknowledge that we are sinners, believe that Jesus died and rose again, and place our trust in Him as our Lord and Saviour.
This is what we call the Romans Road:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
You can do it in the privacy of your own thoughts. Just pray and admit you're a sinner, be willing to repent of your sins, and ask God to save you.
Done!
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Do you have sufficient evidence that Millard Fillmore was one of our Presidents?Without sufficient evidence, I simply cannot believe that.
What [exactly] makes it 'drivel'?wndwalkr99 said:I would have preferred that you did not quote me a bunch of drivel,
Sure thing.wndwalkr99 said:... but rather said it in your own words and left it at that.
I'd say you're on the wrong website then.wndwalkr99 said:I care not for biblical verses.
As I have stated many times here: Faith is believing something, even if science says otherwise.
No, that would be incorrect. I enjoy fiction and non-fiction in many stripes. So can prose and mythology, allegory, etc. Is it safe to say that you just don't like any sort of literature?
No argument there!I recommend sticking to the Biblical definition.
Why did you decide to post it here instead?I actually thought about posting it in the Controversal Christian Theology section because then more Christians would see it, but I decided to put it here instead.

[QUOTE="AV1611VET, post: 71319834, member: 152669"Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
I'm curious how you've managed to convince yourself that faith, using this definition, is a good thing. You can pm me if you like.
Talking about the idea of humans having souls, I once read a short story concerning people who had been cryogenically preserved finally being restored to life in the far future. As it turns out, their souls had supposedly left this world permanently at the moment of death and what was being restored was a soulless shell occupied by entities with an infinite capacity for evil.
Do you remember the name? Sounds interesting.
That goes cpmpletely contrary to the biblical definition which clearly involves certainty.Faith is not the opposite of doubt. Faith is the opposite of certainty.
