Probably? or possibly?

Wikipedia uses "possibly."

SOURCE

According to Wikipedia:

So it is Darwin's children that started the rumor that it didn't happen.

Choose whom you care to believe, and let me do the same. :)

I gave you a specific reason why I want to believe what I believe.

Are you willing to do the same?
It is probably true that she made it up. That is what the preponderance of evidence indicates.

Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if Darwin had reverted to his comforting prior beliefs on his deathbed, but this story appears to have been fabricated.

What evidence specifically?

This kind?

Luke 1:1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

The Bible would not qualify as evidence in this case. And especially not those verses. They have nothing to do with evolution.

Badly injured soldiers often regress and call for their mothers.

This " Darwin regressed" thing is such a limp straw to compulsively clutch.
Only shows they have nothing.

We'll see if he (or anyone) has any specific evidence that supports his claim.

As they say during math exams:

Show your work please.

If it was such a "limp straw," I have a feeling Wikipedia, who has been advertising for monetary support for months, would say it is "possibly true."

Your own desperation to believe this story is an example of evidence for it being false. You already owned up to your ulterior motives, and since Darwin's work has been confirmed a change of mind on his deathbed would not change the fact that you and I and every other human is an ape at all. This hatred of reality by creationists for no good reason tells us that they would see this example of Lying for Jesus as a good thing.

Oh my! Still desperately clutching.

I love the smell of desperation in the morning.

Jesus wept over the lost.

And He told us that people like Darwin (and myself at one time) are fields that are "white already to harvest."

So you bet.

I'm desperate to believe this story.

For Darwin's sake.

And that's my reasoning for my desperation.

Now ... are you willing to show me your reasoning for your belief?

You bet I'm desperate.

Someone was desperate enough to come to our house and give us the Gospel.

And I'd venture to say you have some loved ones desperately praying for your salvation as well.

Two questions:
1: Why does Wikipedia needing monetary support have anything to do with the very real possibility that the Lady Hope story could be false?

And 2: Why does it matter so much to you that the Lady Hope story be true? Does Darwin being a Christian on his death bed really a hill you feel the need to die on?

So no evidence at all. Just misunderstanding at best on your part.

The Wiki article gives the clear evidence against it.

1: It is a straw. To mix metaphors any straw in a storm will do.

2: He admitted that his ulterior motive was to refute evolution. Though a person changing his mind after a lifetime of threats proves nothing.

No, that is not evidence of what Darwin did or didn't do. I meant the evidence previously linked.

1. I don't consider things that Wikipedia say are "possibly true" as "limp straws."

2. I've already explained that in detail. Do you want Scripture references? I'll be glad to supply them.

The Wiki article gives the clear evidence against it.

Choose which side of the fulcrum you wish to stand on then.

I'm not afraid to present my side.

And I'll give you my opinion, Wikipedia links, and Scripture references.

Feel free to openly defend your side with the same.

That doesn't really answer my question because you made the effort to focus on Wikipedia needing donations to keep going as being the reason why they'd say the Lady Hope story is 'possibly true'.

2. I've already explained that in detail. Do you want Scripture references? I'll be glad to supply them.

Yeah, you feel that it would be best for his salvation. But why does that matter to you so much? The guy is dead and deceased, and has been for well over a 100 years and you're focusing on a story that came out over 30 years after his death.
So, again, why is this a hill you feel the need to die on? Or this an American Baptist thing?
