[FONT=&quot]Once a person becomes a Christian; it is possible to backslide and loose your eternal soul.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Not your rewards. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]But it is possible that having been saved that you can loose your eternal soul![/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Acts 11:21-23[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]" And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church, which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, which he should go as far as Antioch. [FONT=&quot]They are talking about the Jews. The Jews was cut out of the Olive Tree because of unbelief.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]The Gentiles was graffed into the Olive Tree because of belief.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]God will cut you off if you stop believing.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]In verse 22 He is talking about the individual and not the nation.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]You know and I know that a Jew can still be saved, individually; if he accepts Christ as Savior.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]And individually the Jew can be cut off when he stops believing on Jesus Christ.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]" Know ye not that they which run in a race all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. You can be like the Apostles and win the whole world, but when you stop believing, You are in danger of being a castaway for the prize.

[FONT=&quot]This shows that if we don't keep the Gospel in memory and if we don't continue to believe then of course we are not being saved.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]" Stand fast therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]This is talking about falling from the Doctrine of Grace into the Doctrine of law, and thinking he can be saved by being circumcised, and obey the Law of Moses.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]He has fallen from grace and he can loose his eternal soul.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]If you think you can be saved by anything other than Jesus Christ, than you fall from the Doctrine of Grace into the Doctrine of Law; and the Law can't save you, therefore you would be lost.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Colossians 1:21-23[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]" And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight. If we continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister."[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]You might not of went through the watery grave of baptism as surely as they went through the Red Sea.[/FONT]

Hebrew 6:4-

" For it is impossible for those who were once enlighted, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost. And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

"He who walks in darkness" isn't the man suffering with serious depression, but yet Loves Jesus, and talks too Him on a regular basis sin, and all! The person who walks in darkness is the self-willed, self-righteous, church going "false"-Christian who worships his own "golden-image", and believes he sins not! Which person is more of an abomination in GOD'S Eye's then the person of the worst vice!!!

The spirit wars against the flesh. Our sins (past, present and future) are forgiven when we receive forgiveness. A born again Christian sometimes blackslides and falls into sin. Suicide is not what I would call blacksliding. It is not like any other act of sin. As someone else commented, no one knows the true relationship between an individual and God. He/she may claim to believe but their faith could be shallow or non-existant. As the parable of the sower goes, heaven is likened to seeds that fell on different soils (conditions of the heart). Seed that was planted in good soil grew to produce fruit, the fruit of the spirit which is: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self control ... Did this person exhibit these godly qualities?
I often wondered about suicide. I can be almost certain that it is a total lack of faith in God -- is it not? He/she is not trusting God, who is the author and giver of life and it is up to Him to take it away. The Devil wants to come into a person and destroy them, especially if they are weak. But the Devil cannot snatch any true believer out of the Fathers Hands. Maybe the seed was planted in shallow soil and when the thorns and thistles (trials and tribulations) grew around it, it choked out what little faith the person had -- hence they give up.
By their fruit you will know them. This action is not being led by the Holy Spirit, after prayer and seeking spiritual council. I am sorry I am so blunt. I had a brother who died of AIDS because he lived a homosexual lifestyle and didn't repent. I was blunt about him as well. It is sad. We are not suppose to say who is going to Heaven or Hell, it is not for us to judge. Maybe we shouldn't even worry about it and just remember the good in the person. These are the kinds of tears that God will wipe away from us when we get to Heaven and find out that some we knew did not make it.
