If Mexico were white, would there be so much opposition to illegal immigration?

Argentina is a white Hispanic country. Most of the people who live there are descended from Italian immigrants. Let's say Mexico was a white Hispanic country and there was the same amount of illegal immigration. In this case, do you think there would be just as much opposition to illegal immigration? It's not like you hear anyone complaining about illegal immigration from Ireland (there are approx. 50,000 Irish illegals in the US, and barely anyone says anything about them).

I would hope there would be. Illegal is illegal I do not care where you are from if you are here unlawfully whether it be because you overstayed your visa or were never here lawfully to begin with you need to be sent home. If you came here lawfully and REMAIN here that way there feel free to stay.

Maybe because they are not coming here illegally for the most part most of them are likely overstaying their visas. Not that it should matter, but I guess it is the whole lying and sneaking here to begin with as opposed to starting out right. It is not rally easy for Irish people to sneak over here they can not really just walk across a border.

Most of the opposition deals with the belief that illegals take away jobs from American citizens and that they add to the crime rate, plus that they bring illegal drugs across the border. They do not take jobs from Americans as to the crime rate maybe a little bit in the traditional sense, but they are a criminal just for being here.

Estimated 12 million illegal Mexicans. That's a much bigger number than 50,000.

Well, the OP is asking what if they were "white", not "of European descent", which is all kind of funny since no one is actually white except albinos, I guess. Funny side note: one of my best friends in high school was an albino guy whose last name was Rodriguez.

So there are 50,000 illegals from Ireland here, whereas 1/3 of the total population of El Salvador is now in the USA--and they are dwarfed by the number of illegals from Mexico. Surely, you cannot think that race is the most important factor in all of this.

I think it’s because there are approximately 5.6 million illegal immigrants from Mexico.

That's notorious drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman flanked by ICE and DEA agents. He doesn't appear to be notably darker than either of the other men, yet he is indisputably just a responsible for horrendous crimes as he would be if he looked like Emiliano Zapata or whoever.

(I'm still leaning towards "no" by virtue of the fact that whiteness/mixture didn't get El Chapo off the hook, just in case that's not clear.)
