And stop false dichotomizing, John the Baptist said to us that the “Kingdom of God is at hand.” Christ’s Church and God’s kingdom are not two opposite things.

You just are not aware of true world history and have been told a lot of things that just is not true about history and Catholic teaching.

The bible did no float down from the sky, it came from somewhere, tell me where did it come from?

Anybody can pop up and write something down and say it was from God. But what do we have to verify the writings did indeed come from God?

We have the faith that Jesus left to His apostles that was passed down through the apostle’s succession. That’s how. The faith was entrusted to them and protected from error by the Holy Spirit.

It was they; the Church who was able to verify what writings was inspired by God and which ones were not. The Church put these writing in canon for YOU so YOU would know which ones were true and so you would not fall prey to the erroneous writings.

If you trust the Church’s judgement on the bible (and you do, every time you open it) then surly you should trust her on everything else.
