If man is evolving, why is there still war?

Will you agree it is the same way for pedophiles?

I'm not so sure about that actually, it's not as clear-cut as being heterosexual or homosexual, which we are aware of as soon as we hit puberty, but I agree that pedophilia isnt something that can be 'corrected'.

The object of one's libido says a lot about that person.
Why?

It is, in my opinion, what gives that person his reputation; or defines his lifestyle, so to speak.
Two homosexual in a loving relationship is somehow different from two heterosexuals in a loving relationshp?

As the old saying goes:
  1. sow a thought, reap a deed
  2. sow a deed, reap a habit
  3. sow a habit, reap a character
  4. sow a character, reap a destiny
What thought? Haven't we already agreed that homosexuality is something you are born with, like the colour of your eyes?

Children should, again in my opinion, be taught (by their parents) the story of Amnon & Tamar.
A story about a brother raping a sister. O...K.

Are we to infer that you think homosexuals should accept the way they were born but should repress those feelings? Repression doesn't have a great reputation you know. Just look at catholic priests. And besides, you think any sane god would really be bothered about two homosexuals loving each other and enjoying a physical relationship together? Or is that something that a human being with issues would invent? Think about it. Really, think about it. Because at the end of the day, it's on a par with two people with red hair having a physical relationship, or two people born deaf and blind having a relationship. It hurts no one else and fills their life with happiness. Is your god someone that would try and spoil that and instead create more pain and misery? I'll refrain from answering that.

Are negative-to-negative magnet poles somehow different than negative-to-positive magnetic poles?

No, we have not.

I have no idea where you got that idea.

(This is why I don't like playing twenty questions.)
A story about a brother raping a sister. O...K.
What happened before the rape and after the rape?

Look at his attitude before the rape:

2 Samuel 13:2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.

Now look at his attitude after the rape:

2 Samuel 13:15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.

Why don't you just answer the question? Do you think the 2 situations are somehow different?

No, we have not.
Oh dear. Are you still insisting it is a choice? Even though you don't think your sexual orientation was a choice. Somehow 'they' made a decision about their sexual orientation while for you it was entirely different. You didn't have a choice. Seriously? That is your position?

I have no idea where you got that idea.

You are talking about a rape as if it has some relevance. What has a brother raping his sister got to do with sexual orientation? Try and put it plainly so we know exactly what you are saying.

Let's go over this again, shall we?

We are born with a libido.

The object of our libidos determines our reputation and, if left unchanged, our lifestyle.

As the saying goes:
  1. sow a thought, reap a deed
  2. sow a deed, reap a habit
  3. sow a habit, reap a character
  4. sow a character, reap a destiny

Well, programmed to kick in at puberty when the hormones start doing their thing.

The object of our libidos determines our reputation and, if left unchanged, our lifestyle.
Unchanged? You seriously imagine you could have changed the orientation of your libido? Please answer that.

As the saying goes:
  1. sow a thought, reap a deed

  3. sow a habit, reap a character
  4. sow a character, reap a destiny
As I said before: What thought? Why don't you just say plainly what you think?

The object of one's libido (i.e., male, female, infant, child, animal, or pansexual) is not embedded in his libido.

The object is picked by choice.

Strawberry, I get the feeling you're trying too hard to make it look like I'm agreeing with you.

You've already made one major mistake (assuming it was a mistake), and I can't stress how disgusting this conversation we're having is.

I need to put a stop to it, or you'll end up having me saying other things that I didn't say.

So, just to clarify, you think your sexual orientation was your own choice. You could have chosen to be attracted to men if you wanted to. Yes? It wasn't a case of you suddenly finding your body responding in unexpected ways when you saw or thought about certain things, it was you deciding that the response would happen to specific stimuli. Because that is what you have just said in your post.

I'm not trying to make it look like anything. I'm trying to make you think.

Oh please, you're not 12 years old.

I need to put a stop to it, or you'll end up having me saying other things that I didn't say.
I think you are a little confused, which is why you aren't expressing yourself very clearly and keep saying things that are contradictory.

They do claim that mutations are beneficial, no? They do claim species evolve and get better..no? There is more war today than in Adam's day. Funny, that.

Biblical events didn't happen long ago. War in the bible, war in the present. The human population has evolved, but not that much.

Trying to make you think is a mistake? You have something against thinking now? Does your god not approve of thinking?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Lol, so your god recommends retreating to one's happy place whenever thinking is required. Well then, it's no wonder the world is such a frightening place to you: it's a complete mystery to you.

Didn't someone sing, "Life is just a bowl of strawberries"?

( -- Or was it a bowl of cherries? )

I tend to agree. Using war an an example, I see no people has evolved out of that.

This forum moves really fast. Faster than I originally thought I've gotta catch up.

Anyway. War is a social construct. I've explained this to you already, social constructs are at the mercy of their creator. Like say literature for example. There is an established literature construct in all society reading words from left to right and top to bottom.

In your method of "evolving" we'd have to all agree to say, read words from right to left and bottom to top. Then we've "evolved" out of that previous stage. A good example of this actually happening is Japanese Manga which still reads words from left to right but paces its books from right to left page wise.

War is the exact same way. It exists outside of natural means as a social construct. An individual can "evolve" out of wanting to war but that doesn't make war go away. We'd all have to come together and redefine war for that to happen because it's not natural. It's our creation.

Look, the problem is that a worldview based on ignorance, a blatant refusal to think, and ideas that are contradictory at best but mainly just plain wrong isn't a bowl of anything good. In fact it's quite the opposite, which is what comes across.

One of your renown scientists, Thomas Malthus, would disagree.

Why not?

Scientists have been doing that for years.

How do you think we got such dooseys as earth-rending syzygies of the past and Y2K?

If scientists had been right all along, Earth wouldn't exist today.
