Being a Christian is not a "thought process" it is a state of being. People who are Christians have passed from death to life. They are born again by the Spirit of God. You can't undo that. If you have chosen to reject Jesus, you clearly were never made alive to God in Christ.
I didn't say you should. I just pointed that you believe that my unbelief deserves torture. This is an insult to the rights you currently enjoy. You enjoy freedom of speech yet don't support it for others. What a man brings upon himself in unbelief is on him. I can't stay awake at night over your unbelief.
Who expects you to extend a hand and respect their beliefs? That is in your own mind. Nobody here cares what you believe. Why you are so concerned about what Christians believe is beyond me.This is missing the point. That people believe horrific things and expect me to extend my hand and respect those beliefs is disturbing.
It's actually stated quite clearly in Scripture.your opinion and your judgment, of whether i was a christian.
Not for you to tell me what i believed and what i felt. Though, i do understand it brings you comfort in thinking you can.
Ok.I didn't say you should. I just pointed that you believe that my unbelief deserves torture. This is an insult to the rights you currently enjoy. You enjoy freedom of speech yet don't support it for others.
I'm not concerned about Christian Universalists, for example. I am concerned that a considerable chunk of Christian and Muslims believe in rather abhorrent and morally indefensible concepts just like I am concerned about the values of Scientologists.Who expects you to extend a hand and respect their beliefs? That is in your own mind. Nobody here cares what you believe. Why you are so concerned about what Christians believe is beyond me.
There is no such thing as a thought crime, at least not yet. That is coming, I assure you. There is, however, the state of your heart according to Him who judges the heart.I do not respect your support of torture, thought-crime and totalitarianism.
I don't insist you respect my beliefs but then it is worth pointing out that I don't support torture, or thought-crime or totalitarianism.
It's a difficult matter to wrap our heads around. We feel the need to understand maybe to help others come back from unbelief, or prevent ourselves from falling away. I for one appreciate the conversation, and patience.your opinion and your judgment, of whether i was a christian.
Not for you to tell me what i believed and what i felt. Though, i do understand it brings you comfort in thinking you can.
So exactly how was I wrong then? You and GillDouglas are outright openly against free speech and pro incarcerating and torturing people for what they think. There is no such thing as a thought crime, at least not yet. That is coming, I assure you. There is, however, the state of your heart according to Him who judges the heart.
You don't need to worry about true Christians. They are not concerned about what you believe or the laws of man. They will not chop your head off. You err in believing that being born again is even remotely related to religions like Muslim, or even Catholicism. Religions are of man.I'm not concerned about Christian Universalists, for example. I am concerned that a considerable chunk of Christian and Muslims believe in rather abhorrent and morally indefensible concepts just like I am concerned about the values of Scientologists.
What are "true Christians" concerned about then? You don't need to worry about true Christians. They are not concerned about what you believe or the laws of man. They will not chop your head off. I am against our government trying to control us at all. Our government has in fact begun to encroach on our thoughts. I am not at all in favor of incarcerating anyone for what they believe. You are mistaken. So exactly how was I wrong then? You and GillDouglas are outright openly against free speech and pro incarcerating and torturing people for what they think.
Yeah, because we said that. I think you're inferring too much.So exactly how was I wrong then? You and GillDouglas are outright openly against free speech and pro incarcerating and torturing people for what they think.
True Christians are those who are born again. What are "true Christians" concerned about then?
Indeed if a Christian, or anyone told me they were not concerned about the "laws of man" that'd be cause for concern in itself.
I'm not talking about the government - I'm talking about your endorsement of God, the entity that will (according to you) punish me for what I think.I am against our government trying to control us at all. Our government has in fact begun to encroach on our thoughts. I am not at all in favor of incarcerating anyone for what they believe. You are mistaken.
I know why people think Christianity is hateful. It's because nobody wants to be told they are a sinner. People take offense to that and accuse people of being hateful. I am the first to admit I am a sinner. I am no different from any other sinner except that I am forgiven. That is the only difference between you and me.
