  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's the same reason people need religion, they need a friend, they need to feel that someone is watching out for them.

I read somewhere that religion is nothing more than an insurance policy that never matures, it covers everything the believer could possibly want: Live forever? you've got it, have the best seat in the house next to God? you've got it,
and if you want anything else just add it to the list and the policy will cover it.
When will I collect? when you die, how do I know I'm going to collect? just have faith.

You can collect any time you feel the need. That is the whole point of the song and the message in it for us. Science is no where near enough for me. Man just does not have enough to offer. I can not live a life that God is not a part of. At so many levels in so many ways. He is there when we need comfort, He is there when we need healing. I mean healing beyond what the body is able to do apart from God. He is there to guide us and lead us to show us the way in life. God has the answer for every question and the solution for every problem. Evolution and science are far from able to answer all the questions and science can not solve all the problems. I would reach out to man and science for help and would get my arm cut off. God is always there with the help that we need. He is always there with the love, mercy, grace and all the consideration that we need. Apart from God there are people that drink, take drugs or get involved in all sorts of high risk activities. They just do not know the love and the comfort of God and what HE is able to do in our lives.

So Christians don't drink? or take drugs? or get involved in all sorts of high risk activities? what planet do you live on?

How do you know God is a HE? women have son's as well.
Sorry I do know that your God is a HE because no SHE would ever mess things up or fail to get their message across so badly.

Women are XX, you have to have a Y to produce a son. So men can produce women but women can not produce men.

Not unless you believe in miracles. I really do not think I will be making any more kids at this point. Although you never know. If I did get married again I would most likely get married to a younger women that is still able to have kids. But so far the wife I have has been able to chase the other women off.
