I never understand people who say they will respect Jesus as a peaceful person. For one his teachings were how to be a better servant of God. He wasn't some hippy running around saying be nice to one another. He said be nice to one another because God says so. I just have a hard time with people who claim to respect Christ's teachings but refuse to acknowledge his teachings were about the one true God. Also, Buddhist don't believe in God. Just enlightenment. So if you are a Buddhist you are still technically an athiest.

I find it hard to believe that people only see Jesus as a moral teacher. I dont see this in the Bible. Jesus came down and toppled a tradition rich religion that had stood for 2000 years. He cleared temples and condemned the religious teachers of the day. People hated Him, and tried to kill Him many many different times.

To say Jesus was only a good man, and not God is not true. If you only believed He was a moral teacher, and not God, then you cannot account for the things previously mentioned. A moral teacher would not topple firmly established religions, they would not clear temple markets, they would not call the religious authorities, the holy people of Israel, "a wicked generation". Someone who does not believe in His divinity and His purpose on this earth, cannot account for the things previously mentioned. Without being God, Jesus cannot be a moral teacher. A moral teacher wouldnt lie and say He is the only way of salvation. He wouldn't say He is the one with the Father.

athiest from NOW!

Hi there!

I can only say concerning Jesus Christ...

"The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows...." (Gaither, 1965)

My prayer for you is that someday you will know that sweetness....

i stopped being a christian!

That can't happen... if you were a true beleiver, then you would know that one cannot be "unborn" in Christ. Once one is "born again"... one remains in the family of God... in the relationship. Your fellowship with God might suffer but the relationship remains in tact.

So... either you never were a Christian or you will always be...

Which is it?

You did read that 'other' part in the Bible about His return didn't you?
There will be peace all right, but not until some things get taken care of and there will be those that won't be thinking 'Peace' when it happens.

It also seems He didnt read the parts where Jesus says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father, except through me." Or, when He says that He will reject those who do not know Him on Judgement day. And how there will be many people who claim they know Him, but He will say "I know you not". I just cant see how someone rejects Christ as savior, but accepts Him as a peacemaker. Could you enlighten me on why you think this? Why do you accept some of His teachings, but reject the ones you dont like?

I dont want you to feel like we Christians are intellectually bullying you. I get confused a lot too, especially about Bible stuff. I sometimes spend ours looking over a verse (in fact I did it today), referencing it to multiple Bibles, books, concordances, etc. All this religious stuff is hard to think, and comprehend. I would advise you to look over all of Jesus' teachings. I find it hard to see Him as a moral teacher, without also being God's Son. I cant see a moral teacher saying He is the only way of eternal life. There has to be something more to Him. Best of luck in your quest, and remember, we are open to any questions you have. God bless.

Naasthik,
It's okay to be confused....everyone is on a path in life...your not the only one feeling this way....but keep on searching...tell Jesus that you want to know Him, the Truth about Him. Naasthik, you are not stupid....don't call yourself that. God loves you, you know....and no one can take that away from you...don't let others convince you that God isn't true....you have to find out by yourself, because this is YOUR salvation...not anyone's elses....in order to know more about God, and Jesus Christ, you have to read the Bible...It's in there....If you're a Christian, then you're a Christian.....no matter how little you know.....you just have to have believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and that you have repented, and he saved you....every Christian is getting to know the Lord.....no one has all the answers except God....so a Christain will always keep on growing and growing when learns about God and does His will. Thank you for posting....PM me if you want to talk more about this matter or share some thoughts....God bless you...
