• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

trust me i understand. If you don't feel like talking about it wil help, then i will not judge you, but it does help me to talk to people i know i'll never see. i've not cut for 4/5 weeks. but i've also relapsed around 11 times. Never give up but keep fighting and ask for god's help and let him guide you nd give you hope. please fel free to talk to me

it is possible to stop, but i found that i couldn't do it on my own.
i cut for 6 years and was hopelessly addicted to it. i had tried a few times to stop on my own, but never truely wanted to stop. then one day i was so disgusted with all the damage i had done to myself and i finally fully gave it all over to God and honestly wanted to stop, and that day he healed that part of my mind and since then i have had no desire to ever do it again. that was one year 3 months and 3 weeks ago.

maybe you've been asking God for help and like you said, wanting to stop. i dont know if this would make sense, but maybe God is going to keep this a burden for a little longer, maybe he has great plans that need this struggle to be there for it to happen. i say that because of my struggle with cutting i met people i otherwise wouldn't have met and lots of things happened because of it that ended up being really good and bringing me to where i am now, which is a much better place :)

hang in there, keep praying, keep fighting the good fight, and God will free you from this struggle when his time is right
