To save time I will copy and paste what I emailed someone. I am not always the best when it comes to wording things, so you all might not understand everything that I am saying.

Anyways here they are

"
1. Years ago I cursed the Holy Spirit and it says somewhere in the Bible that Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can not be forgiven, so I am confused about what that means.

2. one time I used my finger nail and scratched 666 in my right hand. You could not see it, but it was there and people said if you take the number of the Beast ( 666 ) than you can't be saved or something like that.

3. I don't seem to have much faith that I will be saved if I call on Jesus to save me. I say this, because I don't know if he will save me or not and do you have to know that he will save you when you ask him to save you ? I wish I could know, but I can't and I think that is what I mean by little to no faith in me.

4. I get the idea about when you are born again that you have a new life/heart and that you can't clean up your life by yourself. I guess the problem is I can't even make myself want to stop sinning if you see what I mean. I am not just saying I can't stop sinning, I am saying I can't even make myself WANT to stop sinning so how I am ever going to be saved if I can't even make myself want to stop sinning if you see what I mean. I would being sinning while I am asking Jesus to save me from sin ? I think this 4th one of the most important one of all. "

Okay those are the questions that I emailed someone. Can someone help me ?

Yes it can happen.

1) No, you didn't blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and by being worried about it shows that you're not hardened against the Holy Spirits proding.

2) scratching 666 into your hand is not taking the mark of the beast as referenced to in Revelations, that time (IMHO) has not come yet.

3) Remember even Thomas who walked with Jesus doubted and still Jesus treated him with understanding. He will treat you with the same understanding.

4) Yes you will have a new life (think of it as a fresh start), but you are still you, but you will want to try to change (it may not be easy, I'm still working on it) and the Lord will help you change, but won't force you to change. It's still something we all work with.

If you sincerely renounce your sins, even the things you have done can be forgiven:

"All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." - John 6:37-40

Absolutely no exceptions are given here. Therefore, for someone to have REALLY committed the unforgivable sin, they would not be interested in seeking forgiveness and becoming a Christian.

"Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief." - 1 Timothy 1:13

This was the Apostle Paul, who before his conversion, was a hardcore Pharisee and persecutor of the faith. If anyone got close to the line to committing the unforgivable blasphemy, he did. And he was forgiven. He was probably not among the Pharisees who directly opposed Jesus, who witnessed His miracles and slandered Him as a sorcerer when they couldn't deny them, but when he became of age he certainly belonged to their party. And this man was forgiven because he acted in ignorance and unbelief. If Paul could be forgiven, anyone can be forgiven, yourself included. The question is, do you renounce and hate what you did? Would you ask forgiveness for everything and swear your life into the hands of God?

I get the idea about when you are born again that you have a new life/heart and that you can't clean up your life by yourself. I guess the problem is I can't even make myself want to stop sinning if you see what I mean. I am not just saying I can't stop sinning, I am saying I can't even make myself WANT to stop sinning so how I am ever going to be saved if I can't even make myself want to stop sinning if you see what I mean. Well, there are sins that are undeniably fun and addictive. I challenge you to pray, "God, if you are there, and you want me as Your child, help me to hate my sins and come to You for forgiveness." Pray that, mean that, and see what happens.

Okay those are the questions that I emailed someone. Can someone help me ?

1. if you are truly sorry and repent your sin of blasphemy then you will be forgiven. It is as simple as that.

2. carving 666 in your hand is not the mark of the beast as what is referred to in Revelations. That has not happened yet and that mark will carry everyone's personal information with it and will happen after all the ones who are saved have already followed Jesus into heaven. So don't worry about that, just ask for forgiveness for turning your back on Jesus and you will be forgiven.

3. As long as you are sincere when you repent and ask for forgiveness, you will be forgiven. God knows if you are really sorry or not, so you must go to him with your whole heart, mind, body and spirit.

4. We all sin whether we want to or not. We are not perfect and God knows that. As long as you want to change and you really make an effort to follow Jesus Christ and to repent your sins to God, then you will see a difference in your life.

I hope this helped and feel free to pm me if you would like to discuss further.

God Bless

Please listen to/read John Piper's sermon Beyond Forgiveness: Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit.

About eight years ago a young woman came into my office at Bethel, extremely distressed over this issue of the unforgivable sin. She told me how one day when she was a young teenager, she got so angry at her mother who was a Christian that she locked herself in her room and used every swear word and oath and all the foul language against the Holy Spirit that she could think of. That day was seared into her conscience and came back to haunt her again and again. She wanted to know if she had committed the unforgivable sin. It is not a merely academic question. What could be more terrifying than to believe you are beyond forgiveness and bound for eternal misery with no escape? ...

On this one I know exactly what you mean. I went through a period of time in my life where, "I want to want to serve Jesus," was the only evidence I had of God's grace in my life. It's like Psalm 88. The only good thing the psalmist can say is, even though he's not walking forward and maybe even moving backwards, at least he's facing the right direction. Get on your knees and beg God to change your heart. If God does not regenerate your heart and breath new life into you, you will never want to seek after him.

Here's a couple short video clips that may be helpful.

Jesus will accept anyone who asks.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit refers to rejecting Jesus.
scratching 666 is not taking the mark of the beast.
Jesus asks that we come as-is. He gives us a new 'wanter'. It's not our job to change on our own.
Such change does not occur instantly. All of us still fail.

Yes it can happen.

Just the fact that you are concerned that you have sinned is evidence that you didn't blampheme the Holy Spirit. Ask for a fresh start and God will forgive you - then as for the Holy Spirit to give you the power not to practice sin. We will never become sinless until we are in heaven but continually having the desire to not want to and not practice it - is the key. I daily ask God to forgive me of my sins - sins I'm not aware I did since we live in this body of death.

Carnality will not ever be totally overcome in our life here. It can be managed and restrained quite a bit. Just by your posting about your fear of carnality controlling you as you call out to Jesus to save you, is showing that you are able to manage it this far. Just think how far you will go with the Lord helping you!

Have you read 1 John, 1 Peter, James, and Matthew 7?
If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth (1 John 1:6).

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him (1 John 2:3-4).

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him (1 John 3:4-6).

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments (1 John 5:2).

If you love me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15).

Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?" And then will I declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness" (Matthew 7:21-23).

We are all in that place. That's the whole point of the good news -- that God understands our weakness, and wants to help.

We are not saved by what we do. God has said we are His children, and that takes no act of goodness to maintain.

He will love us if we run away, He will love us if we don't vacuum our rooms, He will love us if we sneak cookies out of the jar. It is our love that He wants back -- our choice to be part of the family of God.

Read through one of the gospels to get a sense of Jesus' teachings (Matthew maybe, or John). He talked about goodness in the sense of respect for each other, and opposed the legality of striving to attain a twisted sense of righteousness.

You are forgiven. You are welcomed into the family. This is scriptural.

Just walk into it and accept that you're not always going to do things perfectly, but that you're going to operate with good conscience... trying to operate out of love with His help. With His help. That is the gospel -- you have been redeemed from the law of sin and death. The price has already been paid.

People make up all sorts of things about the unforgiveable sin, and because of the uncertainty behind the passage, the information turns into all sorts of fears and accusations. Sorry that people held you back in saying that.

Look at the whole passage.
Scribes are accusing Jesus of working in conjuction with Satan to cast out devils. Jesus responds, a kingdom divided against itself doesn't stand.

Then he goes on to say, "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;
but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.

The same sentence people use to condemn each other, also implies that there is no sin God is unable to forgive men. Jesus and the scribes were talking about demons, and I believe Jesus was still talking about demons in this statement. He compared "sons of men" to those who never have forgiveness.

There were two negatives in the never part -- a "no" and a perpetual eternal negative, which includes previous time too. Without beginning or end. This would define demons -- those who did not have forgiveness in past-present-future.

The chapter concludes with Jesus saying, "For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother."

Bless you Littleone! I love the responses you've gotten here from these precious Brothers and Sister, and ask that the Lord would bless them also. I really only have a little to say to add to what has been said here.....In response to question 3 on your list.
Do you have faith the size of a mustard seed? Have you ever seen a mustard seed? I know in faith and through your post that you most certainly do have enough faith!!!
Question 4 shows your honesty and the fertility of your heart. You will not be sinning by coming to Jesus and asking Him to help you. He loves honesty, and He loves you too friend! Go to Him quickly and do not let anything discourage you from doing that.

The unsaved, unreborn person does not have the desire to NOT want to sin...The desire to not sin is a God-given desire through the Holy Spirit who comes into your life and tears down your old self to give you new spiritual birth.. this all happens after you have repented of your sins and become reborn.

The fact that you're concerned about your eternity and wanting to have God in your life (or be reconciled) shows more than someone who is absolutely shutting themselves from the Lord.

The mark of the beast is not something you write on yourself with a pen or your fingers etc..it is a visible object handed to civilization by the anti Christ who we see is on the uprising and will be taking place probably very soon.

I would urge and strongly encourage you to drop everything and come before the Lord and just lay it out before Him and plead for His mercy over your life.
I would also encourage you to seek a local Church and seek intercessory prayer warriors to pray for you.

Have you tried giving your heart over to Christ? If you truly want to turn your life over to God I encourage you to pray to Him. It doesn't have to be anything eloquent. Just be sincere. Tell Him you know that you are separated from Him, you know that you've committed sins against Him but you ask for forgiveness for those sins and that you want to no longer live for youself but for Him. Ask Him to change your heart from desires of this world to desiring Him. Seek out a church in your area and go, get involved and seek to grow in your faith daily. Get connected with a small group at the church for support, fellowship and growth. I pray you can make the decision.

The replies that people have posted here are excellent!

I just want to say that blaspheming the Holy Spirit is not cursing the Holy Spirit, IMO. The Holy Spirit is the One Who prepares a heart for salvation, and is the One Who transforms that person's life when they come to Christ. Therefore, refusing the prompting of the Holy Spirit by never, ever coming to Christ (i.e., never being born again), which puts that person in the same boat as the Devil and the fallen angels/demons, is blaspheming the Holy Spirit...again, IMO. In other words, a person who blasphemes the Holy Spirit is a person who never accepts Christ. A false convert would probably fall into this category as well. In either case, that person will not be forgiven, and they will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. The Bible says that the Christian's name was chosen before the beginning of time to be written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and that faith is a gift (given by God). Unless God gives the person that gift of faith, that person is merely left to their own free will, and in our own free will, in and of ourselves, we will never choose Christ. That person, without God's gift of faith, will refuse to accept Christ, and will not give in to any prompting of the Holy Spirit. This last part is something I just thought of just now, so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it seems to make sense to me.

The Law (i.e., the Ten Commandments) was never given as a way to get to Heaven. The purpose of the Law is to be a mirror, to show us how wicked and sinful we are, so that, in desperation and hopelessness, we fall at the feet of Christ and turn our lives over to Him. When someone does that, Jesus washes away their sins, white as snow, and the Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside that now-clean, sanctified, HOLY person, and resides within that person, who is now a temple of God...a temple of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit instantly changes that person. If the person was previously in very obvious sin (heroin addiction, prostitution, always getting drunk, murder, rape, etc.), there will be a GIGANTIC, immediate difference that is VERY obvious to anyone who knew that person. If the person was previously a relatively moral, religious church-goer, the change may not be quite so obvious on the outside. In any case, that person now has a new resource to resist sin, and a new DESIRE to resist sin. A process then begins, where God begins to make that person become more and more Christ-like.
