I did ask Jesus ( God ) to save him. I don't know if he saved me and I did not know if he would save me when I asked him, so I just trusted in him the best way that I could. I also did my best to trust in this way and not to trust in anything else such as good works and being baptized by water.

I am still very confused. It's like confusion is all around me  I pray that the Holy Ghost will speak to me and I have the King James Bible.

I want to ask others to pray for me, because I need it.

Pray and ask Jesus to help you in your confusion, and to show you what He wants you to do. Pray and ask for His wisdom and His guidance. Your prayers don't need to be fancy; just honest and sincere.

Also, read the Bible every day for guidance and growth and wisdom.

This is a very simple task to start to learn but you will find that this learning is a continuing process.. God says it is by faith we are saved and we can have assurance that we are saved.. Faith is hearing what God says and believing on His Word..

Gods Word will lead you to all that you desire and much much more.. The bible is God speaking to you.. God speaks to you and me through that Word!!

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes on Him (that is Jesus) will not perish but have everlasting life..

We confess with our mouth Jesus is Lord.. and we believe with our heart.. and we are saved!!

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Rather then write out a long post to you.. I will share with you this website which has it all on it.. I was looking for more scriptures and prayers of salvation and to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.. but this person has shared her testimony as well on this site and also answered the question you asked about how to be sure you are saved!!! About three quarters of the way down the page!!

Also this might be helpful..

Pray to the Holy Spirit..

I know how you feel. I guess the best antidote for confusion is just believing the promises that God has given you (some of which can be found here in specific categories, even when there are times when you don't feel like believing.

And so I am *sure* that God who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6). This pdf file (use Acrobat Reader to view) has an uplifting message that shows you through the life of Biblical characters that even in the confusion and hard times, that God is still there and perfecting you. I *really* recommend reading it. It isn't too long.

God bless and peace.
