It could be. I had a similar situation years ago where I couldn't find a job for over 4 years until I started paying my tithes and offerings.

Tithes were crop and animal offerings given to the Levit at the Temple of God in Jerusalem, God never asked for money and the Jesus never paid tithes because He owned no land nor cattles.

dont use this chance to cheat people. please.

Hardships are not a sign of being cursed. They're a sign that you're alive in a fallen, sinful world. Life is tough. Stop comparing your life to other peoples' lives. God has given each of us a path to walk that is for us and nobody else. If you have a grievance over something in your life, you need to bring it before the Lord and surrender it, not wander into outlandish voodoo-type thinking of being cursed. Jesus was materially poor during His ministry years, He was persecuted, He was lied about, He was made fun of, He was betrayed, and ultimately was killed. Was He cursed? The apostles were beaten, jailed, driven from place to place by persecution, and many were murdered. Were they cursed? There are children starving to death and dying of curable diseases right now all over the world. Did someone put a curse on them?

Come on, dude. Get your head back into right thinking. Not only are you NOT cursed, but if you have your health, a roof over your head, and clothes on your back, no matter how impoverished you might feel, you're already ten steps ahead of a LOT of other people who would gladly trade places with you.

Dear JoeinPA. You might be mistaken, try this way. Jesus told us: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and love thy neighbour as thyself. Show Jesus that you follow His loving advice, and treat all you know and all you meet, friends or not friends, treat them as you would love to be treated: with kindness and always friendly words. Tell God and Jesus that you are following their loving advice, BECAUSE YOU LOVE GOD AND JESUS. Ask for Love and Joy in Matthew 7: 7-10: then share it all around you, and thanking God and Jesus with your heart, soul and mind. I say this with love, Joe. Greetings from Emmy, our sister in Christ.

Good point.

It's surprising how much anger and hate this simple comment can generate inside some people. Not only is it a comment, it's a truth, and yes, it's in the Bible.

On another note, when I feel I'm being attacked, I get in my prayer closet and pray more ... louder, and in tongues. It always helps. Always.

I've spoken to many people who are aware of my situation and they've said to me they're glad they're not me...not exactly what I want to hear.

Sure I may have those things, but when I'm plagued daily it's kind of hard to focus on them. Maybe I'd rather have freedom than clothes on my back etc.

So if all those things happened to the followers, apostles etc what's the point of us being followers? Isn't there something called a covenant, where we're supposed to have everlasting life etc?

As far as the everyday,it just seems like I'm going around and around in recent years with no progress and just getting worse.

So, you think only farmers had to tithe, and only crops and animals were used to tithe? What if I had only 1 cow?

I guess farmers and shepherds got a raw deal and probably wished they were computer programmers.

By the way, I'm in Nigeria and need help transferring a large sum of money from the U.S. Could you help me out? :)

Anyway, another aspect to this thing happening to me is some sort of financial block as well. It's like feast or famine, not steady. And I can never seem to get ahead...it's like it's rare that I do get a good job and when I do something happens to end it. That goes for any kind of financial opportunities,I knew people in marketing and things seem to go as planned for them meanwhile for me it was always something unexplainable that things never worked out for me...

Sure I understand we get our daily bread and all that, but it seems we're slipping further financially. Our house is falling apart and we don't have a dime to fix it! It's not like we live in Appalachia or somewhere poor...we're in the northeast, one of the most prosperous areas of the country! So why be in the rat race when we're not even running...if we're gonna be this poor might as well live in a relaxed place too.

Nobody is saying that you aren't going through a hard time, Joe. I'm certainly not saying that. What I'm trying to impress on you is that your focus and your attitude are not helping you. Everyone is going to go through some cruddy periods in their life. You aren't singled out, you aren't cursed. You're just going through a difficult time. If you believe in and trust God, then you need to remind yourself that He's in control, He knows what's going on, He's got good reasons for allowing these trials into your life, AND He will bring you out of this once His purpose is accomplished.

Is there a lesson God is trying to teach you? Patience, humility, faith, obedience? The more you rally against the lesson, the longer and harder it will become. The more you submit and stop fighting and stop declaring your "right" to an easier life, the sooner God can actually step in and move on your behalf.

Get your eyes off yourself and the people around you that you're coveting. Put them on Jesus and leave them there.

I just see or hear of others that ever have this much of a hard time,I'm on social media also and I'll mention things as they happen and people have got to be wondering wow can this guy ever catch a break?

As for lessons,I've been humble, open, and teachable my whole life so I don't see why I should be getting such a hard time!

I've tried submitting, but it's like I'm more vulnerable and get beaten on more it feels like. I just don't know what it is I'm supposed to be learning...this has been a long time!

As for declaring rights, what about those who preach such? They preach that you're blessed and to 'claim it'. I don't particularly do that either.

Like I said it's just these small ironies that build up and stress me out, such as today's deal- I received disciplinary action from my one job and had my recruiting job question whether to keep me on as I haven't gotten enough prospects. Insult to injury...bad enough I'm flat broke, but now any financial prospects I have are dwindling. It's like it just gets worse and it's just been too long and too much of it. No wonder I've been having suicidal thoughts, nothing is happening so what's the point of suffering?...

1. Stop comparing your life to others' lives.
2. If it feels like you're running into one obstacle after another, there's a reason for it! God is trying to teach you something here. Are you listening, or just complaining?
3. I totally understand what it feels like to have one problem after another piling on top of you. The best thing to do is those situations? Check yourself, make sure you aren't doing something you shouldn't be doing that could be causing trouble; is there some unconfessed sin in your life? Are you in need of an attitude adjustment? Some broken relationship you need to mend? Some past "junk" you haven't dealt with? If your slate and your conscience are totally clean, then you need to trust that God knows what's going on, and that He's got it all in hand, and that He's going to take care of you and be faithful to you. You either believe that or you don't.

Of course I'm listening...and I'm waiting for some kind of sign or answers. And few are as conscienscous as I am,I'm always dissecting and examining things...I have been told I think too much or I'm too self-conscious so there it is...
Now today I just had more hits...my one job gave me a warning and the other one let me go!...

I see a few problems already, just in that response. Stop looking for "signs or answers". God's given you all the promises and truths you need for your day to day life, in His Word. You also mention that you dissect and examine things, perhaps too much. That certainly seems to be the case. So that's another thing you might consider working on, not over-analyzing everything to death.

Everyone has positives and negatives in their life, at any given time. Stop choosing to focus on the negatives, and start focusing on the positives. For example, I'm home sick from work today. But instead of feeling sorry for myself and saying "Why, Lord? Oh WHY am I sick?" I'm thanking Him that it's a beautiful, sunny spring day, and even though I felt pretty cruddy, I'm not dying, I'm not seriously ill, and I know I'll feel better soon and be back on my feet. Every circumstance has many angles; how you feel about it largely depends on which angle you choose to view it from.

But what if you were seriously ill and weren't sure how things would turn out? That's where the faith comes in I suppose. There are literally often times when I'm not sure if I'll end up so fed up that I end up doing something...that's the point I'm at. Sure it's all well and good to look at the pretty things in life,I do,but there are also times to buckle down and search for solutions...

You've repeatedly said that EVERYTHING in your life fails. So this idea of "buckle down and search for solutions" confuses me, because you talk as if you've already done every possible thing, and it's ALL failed. I've also already given you a bunch of advice on what to do and you just keep repeating the same complaints.

Nothing wrong with learning to fix up your own home, friends of
mine got those how to books and DVD's from the local library
and watched those many times and took notes.
They built themselves a small home that's about a thousand square feet,
used wood on their property and from other places...they also got
many windows, door, plumbing items etc from a recycle place.
They had professions to do the wiring, plumbing etc. (pass inspection.)

Another man I know lived in a small camper after going through a divorce and squirreled away much of his paycheck for several years, he bought a fixer upper house and he learned to do many of the repairs to it himself, when the house was finished being updated,
he had a paid for home...it took him just over a year to get the place in shape.

Me and my husband learned to do home repairs as well... my husband had a
fixer upper house, we learned to lay flooring, my husband learned to do drywalling,
he already knew how to paint. We both learned to put on siding and recovered the
garage that looked pretty beaten up.
Some work was accomplished by swapping--- my hubby helped out some other folks who
needed painting done and one guy came and installed our new stair railing, the other
guy did our tiling work and installed the toilets.
We also went to a recycle place and got items for our home; we sanded doors and repainted
them, a friend of my husband helped him re-hang the doors.

*Several years later we would be mortgage free, which was good because in 2009
my husband had a bad accident at work and had to have his left leg amputated...on-going
medical issues rendered him 80% disabled and we live on his disability pension.
My husband has constant pain and at any given time his health "goes south", he uses
a wheelchair and has a stair-climber and other home aids to help him be as independent
as possible.
When we aren't "home-bound" we're serving on the Pastoral Care team at church, we
also volunteer at the local outreach shelter here, help out our "neighbors" etc.

So even when the "unthinkable" happens one can find a new way to live-- reliance
upon the Lord and His Word are key to making it through very rough times, this is
what we have found out.
