Says the video's not available. It's because I'm Canadian, isn't it?!I also remember the need for a UHF antenna (for any station after 12, I believe); that was usually where many of the "independent" TV stations were found that had a lot of underrated, interesting programming.
Here is song all about it!
I'm getting 'not available' also...Says the video's not available. It's because I'm Canadian, isn't it?!

Same exact story here. Except our hand me down TV was color. Which reminds me, I asked my son to bring me the remote the other day and he bellyached about it. I told him “when I was your age, I WAS the remote”I grew up in the county, and it was mostly in the 1980's but we were poor. We had a black and white TV for the longest time because it was used and cheap. I was given a TV for my bedroom, and it was also black and white. We didn't have cable and satellite dishes were new and costly for my family. We only had an antenna, and it only picked up three-four channels, which weren't always clear.

It’s tge same equivalent as us watching shows from the 50s. Let that sink inMy son thought that I grew up in the days before color photos and TV. I started having the boys watch shows from when I was growing up. They were surprised that the technology and way of life wasn't that much different than it is now, and they really love some of the shows I did.
You still have a VCR?only bad part is, since everything went to digital, we can't record anything anymore as VCR won't work with digital tv
You still have a VCR?
I have held off on getting a blue ray player, kicking and screaming. But our DVD player quit working, so I'll probably end up replacing with a blue ray player. He is moving away this week, and he's taking the PlayStation with him.
