Hey Azure! I went to the Asian food market & found the tea. I'm getting ready to make some. BTW- I think my husband actually prefers the green tea as well. Not a bad thing if all the health benefits are true.

No, not the matcha. I think I'm going to have to order that.

I found a pure green tea that was much cheaper than you pay for in the regular stores.

Ok, so I guess what I am asking is what the difference between American tea & British tea?

And why do British think our tea is weird?

because we do not make it right most of the time

we use cheap tea
like yeah, it is all the same plant, but coffee is all from the same type plant
but you have had cheap coffee before, it makes a difference

tea has so many factors
in a way, it is similar to wine
the region it is grown in gives it a different flavor

black tea from Sri Lanka has a different flavor then tea from Assam India, and that has a different flavor then tea from Darjeeling India, and that has a different flavor then tea from Yunnan China

green tea from Japan tastes more grassy then green tea from China

Detectives? They have Sherlock Holmes. But we have Columbo. I say we win! LOL

wow, this is going to be hard

England, Sherlock Holmes, Father Brown, Hercule Poirot (immigrant to England) and L. Lawliet or simple "L" from Death Note

America, Sam Spade, Columbo, Nancy Drew

France has Auguste Dupin

so yea, England wins by a landslide

I like the cheap tea. :D
Plus i save money. :p

Its probably 'where' the cut comes from off the plant. Same plants... so its not really too far off from the other. Perhaps a psychological thing.

also the quality of the leaf
there is an intricate grading system
basically it is how full the tea leaf is and how intact the tea leaf is

most of the stuff we use looks like saw dust...

Numi brand tea has a really nice Earl Gray
they use pure Assam tea (that is the strong tea that makes Breakfast tea bolder) and instead of using bergamot oil, they use bergamot rind for flavoring

We have a nice little store here who sells 'all things tea' and her prices are 'up there' its like $2 - $4 an ounce.
She sells Earl Grey - i smelled it -its not for me. :D

But i love to buy some teas from her. I love the flavored stuff she got. She gets strawberry flavored and mint and all kinds of goodies.
She imports - i believe. So you pay the price.

Over all - drinking her high priced stuff and also drinking the cheap stuff - maybe im not a connoisseur - but the difference isnt huge.
It's workable.

I guess i'll keep my cheap. Its what i can afford anyway. :D

I dunno

I think it helps regulate everything in your body more
so if not going enough is a problem, tea will probably help with that
it is the wonder drug

TAZO brand has a decent breakfast tea called Awake
I was having a hard time going with my thyroid issues. Even with the meds. But since drinking the tea it does not seem to be a problem.

if you are stressed it helps you relax
it helps me with concentration and focus
it helps ward off hunger
it helps with digestion of food
helps with headaches

I do not know anyone in England who doesn't drink Tea :D everyone does!

The stereotype is quite factual, except; we don't eat crumpets, scones or have fancy tea pots and tea cups lol

But I see some people saying the British accent sound Intelligent? -:

Well the truth is that only about >5% of the population speaks like that nowerdays. If you go to Glasgow for instance it's quite difficult to even know if they're speaking English sometimes :p

Same with Liverpool, Bristol, London and Newcastle - If you go to either of those cities, I would guess that you would not understand what on earth they are saying. It's like 80% of them can't speak English :p They just use lazy English and weird regional slang
Such weird Accents!

I was not aware either that Americans drank tea, I was under the impression that Americans only drank Coffee?

;)
