When you take into account that Paul was a bit sarcastic (and sarcasm is my second language), and you study him, his teachings were not out of line with the teachings of Christ.

they claim to. It is in the noticeable difference between Our Lord's teachings as recorded in the gospels and Paul's teachings recorded in his letters.
Thanks Dave

It was most certainly Paul.

Paul's writings must be read with his position prior to his experience on the road to Damascus. He was high up in knowledge and rank in the Jewish church and was in line to go even higher -

"If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless." - Philippians 3:4-6

Because of this, Paul was steeped in Jewish law and how it was interwoven into the culture of his day. Paul's teachings refer quite a bit to those two things - law and culture.

I recommend this book to anyone truly looking to understand -

his [Paul's] teachings were not out of line with the teachings of Christ.
Actually they were on some points and not on others.

While he was in the desert, he received supernatural revelation of something not even hinted at in the Hebrew scriptures: the place of bona fide gentiles in the Kingdom of G-d.

6 He says, “You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me.
I will make you a light to the Gentiles,
and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”

This is the Lord telling Isaiah what the Lord will do through him. Isaiah will be a light to the gentiles. This is not about Paul at all.

Prophecy all of prophecy spoke of and pointed to CHRIST

ALL THE PROPHETS SPOKE OF HIM (CHRIST)
they never fully knew what they proph cued when the SPIRIT of CHRIST in them spoke of the glory to come
They didn't know fully then
But they do now
And they know that it was in service to us

That it would only be with us that they would be made perfect by and through and because of THE LIGHT who was coming into the world

Every prophet pointed to CHRIST
Isaiah was not the light just as John was not THE LIGHT

But both pointed us to CHRIST

TO THE TESTIMONY AND TO THE INSTRUCTION

Most scholars say the "man" is Paul himself, spoken of in the third person. And I would agree. He is talking about some kind of vision or out-of-body experience.

Some say the man could have been John the Apostle. Personally, I don't think it's important, or else it would have been written.
It's important to a current disagreement that is going on right now and here on this forum

One believes that Paul was a self professed egotistical self declared apostle who went above GOD's WORD

And another doesn't

What do you say?

I know a "man" ...

Only definition of a "man" that will out last time, is one who accepts Christ whose earthly name is Jesus as his son.

Your Alli
I'm sure you didn't mean to say that we are to accept Christ as our son

Right?

I say that since I never knew the guy, I would let God judge him. lol. I don't think the Apostles were perfect, but I do believe in the authority Christ gave them. Peter certainly recognized Paul's authority. Speaking on Paul's writings, Peter weighs them on par with "the rest of the Scriptures."

2 Peter 3:14-16 - Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
