I have finally accepted that I am a mistake

My mom told me that my stepdad, who has been in my life ever since I was 3 when my real dad left, said that he prayed that God would make things okay again, and that my mom would be with him again. (She originally broke up with him to be with my real dad, and she told me a couple years ago that was a huge mistake.)

My dad's family are not good people, and they rarely contact me, but my stepdad's family has always asked me how I was doing. My stepdad has also shown me how to be a man. I'm an only child by the way.


I just have to ask the Lord for forgiveness in that I am a huge mistake.

You are not a mistake. There is a story in the Bible of King David, he killed a man, stole his wife for himself, and had a son. God was really unhappy with what David did, God corrected David for doing such an evil thing. Yet God sent a prophet to David to tell him that the son, Solomon, was to be given the name "Loved by God". God loves every person, every son, and every daughter, regardless of how they came to be. You are "Loved by God".

You are not a mistake. God knew you in the womb ... and loves you as much as He loves any other.

Unfortunately, some of the adults in your life have made sort of a mess of things, ... but you have recognized that your stepfather is/has been a blessing to you.

Given that your parents have displayed such inconsistent judgement, I would make a case for including all of them in my life (including your stepfather) ... to the extent that is tolerable, useful, and pleasing to you ...

None of that is your fault. You need to ask the Lord for forgiveness for some things, but that's not one of them.

God fashioned you in your mother's womb. You are His creation. Your biological parents were the instruments He used to bring you into His world. God does not make mistakes.

You are no such thing. The fact that you seek Christ shows that you are not a mistake.

There is simply no such thing as a human being a mistake in the sight of God. Natural life is a gift from God, and so is spiritual life worked by the Holy Spirit. God created you, He loves you, He died for you, and He has adopted you into His Church, where we are one big family. You are not a mistake, but a precious child of God!

God doesn't make any mistakes .... we humans sure do.

You were made in His image (no mistake) .... we are separated from that image because of sin, but through Christ, if you are willing ... He is willing to help you to be conformed back into that image. God is so wonderful!

He knows he has no place in Heaven, if you are open about your faith, the discomfort alone will drive him out.

I dare to say that you are beautifully created, that God's work in you was His best!

Beloved one, holding such thought, doesn’t do you good.

Beloved one, you are hurt but you can come to the Lord for shelter. Pray, beloved one:

Lord Jesus Christ, my Shepherd.
I bless the circumstances that bring grief and sorrow into my heart. I bless it. I receive the peace of Jesus Christ and the inheritance blessings— that is coming to me; from blessing it.

We all need to accept God's Word. What does God say about you? Here's a few thoughts.

God determined the time and place of your birth
-“And he made from one man every race of men to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted epochs and the fixed boundaries of the places where they would live;” (Acts 17:26)

He formed you:
-“For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb” Psa 139:13
-“Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?” Mal 2;10

- But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." Luke 12:7 (This number is constantly changing).
-You are wonderfully and fearfully made (Psa 139)
-The spirit of God made you, and His breath gives you life. Job 33:4
-"The Lord your God is in the midst of you and He is mighty; He saves, He rejoices over you with joy; He will joy over you with singing." Zep 3:17

My mom and dad had sex before they were married-- 1959.
7 months after they were married I was born.
I am not a premature baby.

I figured it out in my late teens and early twenties. When I was 22, my mom told me that had she never gotten pregnant with me, they never would have gotten married.

A couple of decades later, my dad and I talked about it too, and he said the same thing.
If not for me, they would never have married.

I'm almost 62 now.
I became a follower of Jesus in 1977, when I was a teenager.

My wife's parents were not married when my wife was conceived. Her mom committed adultery with her husband's brother.
My wife didn't learn about it until her mother died in her late sixties. My wife and I had been married for 10 years at that point.
Due to the timing of mom's death and the revelation of the family secrets..... my wife felt betrayed, disillusioned with her family, despised, and a lot of other things. It was a messy period in our lives.

While I know that I was the result of sin, and my parents married to "make things right", according to psalm 139 and Jeremiah 1, I am not a mistake.

So, please hear me when I say....

You are NOT a mistake.

Jesus came to save sinners.

Sinners are people whose lives are what I call-- hacked, whacked and jacked.

He came to seek and save those who are lost.

Heaven will be filled with people who were cast out as unwanted, unloved, accidents, mistakes, etc..
People who hurt others and who were hurt by others.

To God, you possess intrinsic and infinite worth and value. Genesis 1:26-27, John 3:16-17

Come follow Jesus. He will bear your sorrow and disillusionment and walk with you through this.
