I just got the official call from the Nursing Dept and I start classes on August 25th!! :clap:

I'm so excited, I can't contain it!! It's been a lot of work, and even more is yet to come, but I have wanted to be a nurse so badly.

I'm taking the boys out of state to a theme park later this month and we have a LOT to celebrate! :)

:bow:
Congratulations, I knew you could do it. Keep your optimism and stay focused and I think you will do wonderful

Blessings,
Chris

Thank you brother Chris. Staying focused is the hard part, because they want you to eat, sleep, and breath Nursing.

I can do it, but God help me (seriously).

And Andrew, I'm going to be counting on your words a year into this! :)

Congradulations!!!! :clap::clap::clap: Happy for you!!

It will be worth the effort and any sacrifices you make to complete the program. I have been a RN for over 30 years and never really had to look for a job, even though we have lived in three different parts of the country. And in what other career can you make big changes in what you do - for instance, after burning out doing ICU for years, I became a school nurse. Totally different job. It is like changing careers - but not really.
And we need nurses!

Thank you FreeinChrist!

You're absolutely right, and the funny thing is that I've struggled with which field I'd like to go into, and then it hit me that I can do BOTH of my choices-just at different times.

I'd really like to go into addiction/recovery, but at the same time I feel like I'm being called to become a prison nurse. Prison nurses get paid very poorly (probably the worst of any nursing position) and the rumor is that only bad nurses take those kinds of jobs because they can't get anything else. I'd like to see that change, at least in one prison. :)

I didn't decide to do this for the money, so it seems like an obvious choice for me....but we'll see what God has in store. I have 22 months to decide which field to go into first.

Since going back to college I kept feeling pushed to take Spanish classes and I kept thinking that maybe God wants me to do mission work. There's mission work within THIS country, and I think that's why God wanted me to learn a different language? I'm not sure, but like I said, I guess I'll find out!

Try letting go of the steering wheel some time. Interesting things happen once you realize you aren't the one doing the driving.
I decide where and how fast I go. It is the engine I have no control over.
