Free will.

God's will is that non shall perish, yet they do.

It's that thing called free will.

Yes.... everyone has a freewill. I am saved but I am not healed. So, if I am not healed, by your definition in many of your posts that I will perish. ;)

Well obviously I'm against it because I don't want to be healed in case I have to get a job or do something for God. And when I publicly testify to God's goodness I'm lying because I really believe that my Lord, Saviour and friend is a horrid God who has deliberately made me ill just for my own good? :sigh:

Ok so the sarcasm's not a good idea, but I have had all these statements thrown at me in the past, and none of them are true. I have also asked several questions about WOF, which incidentally I hadn't heard of until I came on here, so any questions I have about it have come from the posts I've read. Not all of my questions have been answered, and I don't accept certain interpretations of Scripture.

What if God heals because God heals, and this is taken as justification that a doctrine is correct, but in fact it isn't?

What? I mean that last sentence.

Perhaps that's the problem. Truth is not a doctrine, it's a fundemental state of being.

Yep.. as in "division" that have been going on since Paul wrote in First Corinthians. So... TRUTH is what the Holy Spirit convicts your heart rather than what MAN says.

But some people's "truth" is nothing but their own mind rationalizing their own failures away.

It is evidenced by their level of misperceiving condemnation as conviction. I see it rampant and frequent on this forum.

Some have made a doctrine of it. They are easy to spot.

Sorry, what I mean is what if a person says "if you believe in this teaching you will be healed", and the sick person does believe and is healed? That is usually taken as proof that the doctrine is correct, because it works. But God can, and does, heal in many ways - when words are used, or when the person is praying silently; in a service, in private; with the laying on of hands or with no other person being present. If he heals one person in one way on one occasion, it doesn't mean that they have found a formula for healing and God will always heal like that. Many people have been healed who have never heard of WOF.

I agree. Truth sometimes is based on a person's fantasy with the hope of obtaining they think they deserve regardless there's grace in the picture. People fail because they reason rather than truth.

Oh, amen. I personally despise formulas of any kind. Grrrrrrr....

How can lump physical suffering with illness in with suffering for the Gospel?????? Suffering for the Gospel applies to when you are preaching abroad or something and people persecute you for it.

Only a WOF’er could split hairs this fine. If sickness is not suffering that will come as a surprise to many sick people. But if you prefer, we’ll call sickness by some other synonym and leave ‘suffering’ just for persecution.

You reveal your Calvinist-ness...or it least there are traces of it in your theology.

Ha! Boy have you shot wide of the mark. You must be thinking of someone else. I may be the most Armenian person in this forum.

Yes people fail because they resort to the reasonings that brought the Greeks nothing.

They will say something to the effect of, "if I haven't seen it then it is not true". It's the saddest thing I have witnessed.

Where is the pressing in of faith?

JimM and I may agree on many topics but we do REALLY disagree regarding Amernian and Calvinism. :D He is Armenian and I am a Calvinist. What's amazing is this, we do get alone and we do discuss doctrines with respect.

I am a spirit-filled, more into Calvinism than I am an Arminianism.

I used to follow Arminianism but over the years, the more I studied, the more I understand God's plan of Salvation and the works of the Holy Spirit, I tend to agree with Calvinism.:D

Its okay to agree to disagree.
