The problem is that there are too many labels and most of them are negative. My custom title used to say, "Call me Fundie. Call me Conservative. Let me be like Christ."

I believe that these labels are designed to separate us rather than unite us. I don't want to be part of a cliche. Been there, done that, I have out grown the T-shirt.

The mature Christian isn't about labels but about obedience. I am not there yet, but I am trying to focus on it. I am trying to listen to people but at the same time not make my views be what my "group" views are supposed to be. I want my views to be what Christ views are.

So, yes, I am offended when someone lays a label on me especially in the manner that it was given. It was reportable and I was right to do so. It was unbecoming of any Christian regardless of labels. The fact that he then published confidential information, well, again, that shows me the true heart of the person.

There is simply no talking to someone like that.

I too have issues with people being that rude but like another poster has said I have issues with people from both sides of this issue who choose to act in such a way so I can see how you might be offended. But at the same time I understand the other person in this equation how he might feel that he has been demonized by certain people in this debate and he feels no one listens to what he believes is the correct information. Everyone wants to be heard. It would be nice if everyone would at least try to at least vaguely see the others point of view--or at least tolerate its existence and not resort to being rude and calling names.

Of course this a probably a silly and overly hopeful view that I have but oh well...
