...don't get a job, and be one of those welfare recipients the right calls "lazy."

Charlie

We all have options. We just need to open our eyes and look... instead of the resignation I hear echoed on this forum: "they're out to get us!," "we're all victims," "all corporations are evil!" etc.

Believe in the Lord, believe in the love of your fellow Christian, pray for salvation, and repent. Do these things and things will be alright.

Riches in this world don't matter, it's the riches in afterlife that really matters.

Bless you.

We all have options.

You have the option to believe that, if it helps you avoid the main point: That there are people out there who are using and abusing others, and leaving them destitute.

Yes, there are. A small fraction of the businesses out there use and abuse others leaving them destitute. I agree.

My main point is, don't let that get you down. I know for personal reasons that is tough for you, but use it as inspiration, not as a reason to grow apathetic or resentful. Love others, love the Lord, and you shall be free.

This debate about Christian theology is fascinating, but what odoes it have to do with evolution?

Nothing, unless someone tries to use evolution to say that the Christian faith is a fairytale. Evolution is somewhat insignificant in the realm of faith

Conversely, any Christian that tries to prove evolution does not have some merit by using their opinion of what the scriptures say is not very credible IMO. The Bible was not intended to be a science book.

This thread seems to have people from both sides (Evolution and faith) goading the other. So therefore you are going to have posts about faith and evolution

A thread being named “I don’t BELIEVE in evolution” posted by a person of faith seems to be looking for attention or an argument. He sure did get both.

I just wanted to clarify one point you made here, the way I understand you it's pretty much what you said, but I still like to point out that evolution is not contrary to the christian faith at all. The vast majority of other christians that I know also accept evolution and see no problem with it at all. (I've worked in a missions agency, a quite conservative one, for years so it's not just a bunch of liberal european christians either. Nope. Quite conservative actually)

Also, this thread... Well it did initially get attention for that reason, yes. But much more than that what was and is seen as his belittlement, support of social darwinian tendencies, rather extreme nationalism and of course defense of Clirus' genocidal advocacies is what really got people.

We're seeking truth and friendship. So far, I believe I've made a few friends: Charlie, Faith Guardian, Clirus, and Poe.

We may disagree on many things, but I think we have a burgeoning friendship. We've all shared personal experiences with the intention of being heard, being embraced, being challenged and ultimately, through the free exchange of ideas and rigorous but polite discourse, earning respect.

We've taken a step forward. God is smiling on us. I would ask that my new friends pray with me tomorrow at 10:30 AM to help solidify our budding friendships.

Bless you all.

I'd like to be your friend Zongerfield, but it's kind of hard to see you as a friend when you keep telling us you forgive us for things we have no idea what is, and also, stuff like calling us liberal wastrels and the like. It's not... Friendly.

The Theory of Evolution has been the best tool Atheists have found to discredit God and Christianity. Atheists will fight hard to preserve the teaching of the Theory of Evolution in public schools.

Yet the Theory of Evolution is a lie because the key part of the Theory of Evolution which says non living matter became living matter cannot be proved by the evolutionists.

What Darwin observed was adaptation but it was Atheists that extrapolated the adaptation to non living matter becoming living matter, which is a direct contradiction to God having authority because God created all life.

All the other discussion of Theology is really a discussion about the extent of God's authority, where the evolutions believe God has no authority.
Clirus: Stop lying! Abiogenesis (non-living matter becoming living) is not evolution - and I know you know that. So stop lying about the two being the same. Furthermore you are also to the best of my knowledge lying about atheists' role in it's development. Either show data to this effect or don't make the claims. In fact while I'm not claiming this I'm willing to bet the majority involved were and are NOT atheists. This is far more consistent with religious statistics than the claims of atheism Clirus.

The only ones who think evolution is a counterargument to God is either a creationist or someone who has been fooled into thinking they're right.

faithguardian is right in asking you to stop lying. It has been clarified to you, on a multitude of occasions, that what you are claiming is not in fact a key part of the Theory of Evolution. Why are you adamant to continue repeating this error? Is it because you have no argument against Evolution?

Neighbor in the new Testament Greek is "Plesion "
"it means neighbor, fellow man, or fellow creature…..the parable of the Good Samaritan, which teaches that that he who is outwardly near us should be the object of our concern in spite of the fact that there are no ties of kindred or nation between us"

Yes Clirus is wrong but even with credible information, like above, Clirus will spin her interpretation so that she can think that she is right.

This post is mostly for those that think that Clirus may have a point. She does not and will even try to spin the actual word of God in order to promote her own ideas. I no longer think that Clirus is open to sincere examination of the Bible so this is for those that have a open mind.

Response

If a neighbor means both Christians and Atheists, are you going to send your kids to the local pedophiles house with cookies and milk?

Maybe your mind is a little too open. A little common sense goes a long way.

Red herring.

All are sick until they accept Jesus Christ as Lord/Savior and commit to following the commandments/doctrines of the Bible.
And yet you refuse Him.
Please quote where disciples offered and gave help even to those who were not believers.
Read Acts, the entire book. Chapters 3 and 5 for example.
Please quote where it says there is a provision?

Then why is it so important for you to let corporations rake in virtually all of the riches of the world? Your main goal is to let CEOs and CFOs shower themselves in money.

In reference to my prior point - you cannot get a job in the medical industry without signing such a contract. As long as they let you keep your job, sure, whatever, you're making an income. But if they cut you loose, you're screwed even if you have made an invention that has made the corporation tons of money. They can manipulate and abuse individuals, extract their ideas, make millions, and cut them loose. We shouldn't let them do this.

What a weak response! You can see that you were proven wrong by the Bible that you profess to believe in so you go with the ridiculous question of
“… are you going to send your kids to the local pedophiles house with cookies and milk?”
Avoiding the scriptures on a Christian faith issue; how pathetic!
