steven you cant deny the church is an open door for many who the lord would call to himself. i myself (though i dont attend a weekly church service) have been shown to the door of the lord through my granddad, who was an aglican deacon. i obviously dont know what the church "scene" in america is like, but ive heard very good things of this alpha course over here as an intro to the king of kings. surely the idea of a service and a preacher at its most basic level is to evoke peoples interest in the lord and then he sorts out the rest? (or is that a missgiving on my behalf? and its all supposed to be community spirit and all that in obvious reverance to jesus. horses for courses i expect)

I hope folks don't think I'm a Church hater for that would be far from the TRUTH.


It is the Churches MISSION to feed the MILK that everyone so desperately needs.


What I was referring to is some of the things that can go on in many Churches. To me one lost soul because of that is a crime. This happens far to often.

Hi Steven,

I'm sorry you have had that kind of experience in churches. I have too, and I know how hurtful and confusing it can be. As a result, I currently do not attend church. I wish I could say I miss having the fellowship in person but to be truthful, I've never really had a solid experience of that in a real-world, face-to-face setting. So what I "miss" is something I haven't really had. Ironic. Anyway, I'm torn between wanting to try a new church (we recently moved to a new area so any church would be "new" to me) and just not wanting to run into, again, what you so aptly described in your OP.

Pointing others to Christ and the word of God is a good thing. God bless you in your work serving Him.

Some Churches today can be a real form of Sunday entertainment.


There is a lot of effort put forth in many big Churches to draw the public. Many talented folks put on nice productions with the theme of JESUS being used (sometimes ). But don't count on getting bathed in the WORD of GOD.


I do miss that. I'm not a stick!!! But I know what I had to do walking up GOD'S PATH. I had to get into GOD'S WORD myself to receive the miracles
that come from learning the TRUTH.


This is what I try to relay to folks that are searching for the LORD.


We all receive various MISSIONS if we are ANOINTED by GOD. I have no doubt that many of these MISSIONS are in the Church. I feel sorry for some of them as some of their clients have to be filed under " MISSION IMPOSSABLE ".


It is so much more refreshing to serve the thirsty lost. Maybe I just like the head count. lol


Do not hold back from going to Church to drink all the MILK they can serve.

Man you said the lot, and we are proud of you mate.

I agree with many things you say, and our path that we walk is very narrow, and the CHURCH is very deceived.

It's a real shame as we look at the churches of today, and CHRIST-centredness is flowing out of the doorways of churches on a river of new age propaganda and empty deceit.

After all when the CHURCH accepts watered-down versions of God' Word, that has that many holes in it that you can drive a bus through, it makes you wonder how those who are still true to our Lord Jesus Christ can really continue. No wonder there are many "Out-of-Church Christians.

The idolism in our CHURCh today, with all this purpose driven mania, and the portfolios of emerging churches, no wonder the Body of Christ is going down the gurgler.

Churches these days have become Coroporations and Limiteds of the world, and many have become a busines of pyramid selling.

Sad!

Wine is good for the stomach but the only thing I have seen that the Church is allowed to serve is MILK.

Dear Soul's in CHRIST


Yesterday I lost my cool. It was wrong and as it casts a shadow of why I'm even here.


While I don't excuse myself for my loss of patience I think it is important to know why so at least we might come to an UNDERSTANDING.


I feel BLESSED to even be a part of CF. It opens a door to me that would not be available without the computer. Given my health it still allows me to serve my LORD and hopefully help those in pain.


Most folks come here looking for answers with a sincere heart. I know most of us want to really help them as I do.


During my years walking up GOD'S PATH I have run upon the professional CHRISTIAN. The heart that is hard and unreachable. They usually hold the high places in the worldly Churches and are the cause of many folks to lose heart.


Folks go to Church to find the REAL LOVE of JESUS but often find it to be a place of status. The who's who in the community. So as to hold their position of HONNER they receive you with open arms and because that is what our heart is looking for we fall right in to what turns out to be a trap.


In time they find this trap used for GREED, BACKBITING, PRETENDING HEARTS, and SOCIAL STADDIS. When this ugliness finally is exposed openly to them they find themselves in a place of bewilderment. They think to themselves " Well if I can't get this LOVE I desire here where can I find it in this world??? "


So they end up leaving their hopes behind and just turn away from EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD IN THIS LIFE. " JESUS " It may be true that they were looking in the wrong place to find this TRUE LOVE but they don't know that.


THIS IS WHY I HAVE NO PATIENCE FOR THE LIKES OF THE PROFESSIONAL CHRISTIAN THAT IS AN EXPERT AT PLAYING CHURCH. NOW MIND YOU THESE ARE SOME SMART FOLKS AND MANY ARE THEIR PREY.


This is why you see me consantly telling folks to read their Bible and lock GOD'S WORD in their hearts. AS this is the place where TRUE LOVE is found.


In a way we all are like animals in that we want to follow the easyiest path to the food. It appears good to take a short cut by going to church and trying to get filled up with food that has already been gathered up. It takes time to fill up by grazing the pasture.


It is my hope this post will bring us together with UNDERSTANDING so that together we might grow in our LOVE for GOD and perform the MISSION given to us all:

" GO FORTH AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE ENTIRE WORLD "


AGAIN FORGIVE ME FOR LOSING MY COOL. BUT DON'T THINK FOR A SECOND THAT I WON'T COME BACK BOLDLY TO SERVE MY GOD.

FOR I FOUND A TREASURE THAT NO ONE CAN STEAL FROM ME!!! AND IN LOVE I WANT TO SHARE.

How's it goin' WW? I admire you for being humble enough to publically admit that you messed up. And you're 100% right about the church missing the mark on what it's supposed to doing (generally speaking).

I'm pretty much an "out of church" christian myself because of it. I just can't condone the way the church waters everything down as a way to increase membership. God's word, both His written word and the "word" we get from His Spirit, is so very clear on matters of sin and how the church is supposed to operate that I can't understand how those in authority can think they're doing right by minimizing sin.

Even the churches that seem so "alive" on the surface usually have a bunch of junk going on behind the scenes that just makes it a total mockery, lack of authority and lack of church discipline being the most disturbing.

I admit too that I had a hard time with some of the things you say on this forum, that is until I saw it for what it really was, a wise old guy trying his best to help people understand why they are struggling with their issues. Sometimes though, it's a little hard to understand your posts because of the way they are written. I see people snapping back at you a lot becuase they don't get what you are trying to say.

WW, I know your heart is in the right place and you are a blessing to this forum. Please be patient with us as I hope others will be patient with you and really try to understand what it is that your trying to tell us before they retaliate.

All I can say is, you're one tough hombre to be able to take some the things that people say to you without loosing your cool. I'm not sure what happened the other day when you lost your patience, but I'm sure you are forgiven by those who really know you.

Just for the record....

Milk is for babes in Christ. Solid food, or meat is for those who are able to receive it. There are millions of Christians who are not mature enough in their faith to handle solid food.


Hbr 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
Hbr 5:13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Hbr 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.


1Cr 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
