Dear John,
Although I cannot advocate marriage - divorce - remarriage to a secondary spouse, as long as the first spouse is still living, (or murder as a possible solution); I can relate a time in my life when I stongly felt the need for human / christian fellowship - friendship - companionship. After praying for this to occur for what seemed like a long time...it came to me to ask God for wisdom in the matter....
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. <---> James 1:5
What came to me was that instead of asking for my percieved need to be met, I should pray for the grace to endure well that trial and affliction. Once I followed that counsel, it was much, much easier to bear...and before long I met someone who appeared to fit my desire.
Furthermore, even to this day I seldom, if ever feel lonely, or in great need of human interaction....which can also become a temptation in itself, but God is faithful to bring to our attention the undesirability of straying too far, whether it be to the left or the right of the 'strait and narrow'.
Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. <---> Proverbs 4:25-27
May The Lord Be Pleased to Bless !
P.S. Although strait and straight have different meanings, they appeared to fit together within this disclosure.
