Hey, thank you for taking the time to look at my prayer request. I know there’s a lot of other requests on here so I hope you’re not overwhelmed by seeing one more. I’m struggling with finding hope and being joyful in life. I can’t complain to much about my life as it’s not to bad and I know things could be a lot worse so I’m thankful for that. Still I struggle with the mundane life and being bored. I’m single so I become lonely. I have been drinking alcohol in the evenings to “fill” my lonely feelings. I also look at things on the internet that I know I shouldn’t.
I’m not sure what exactly to ask prayer for because I don’t know what God wants out of my life. But I appreciate the prayer. Thank you

Try to find other things to fill your evenings. If you're not tired try taking long walks, or go to a movie. Reading (not studying) is always a great diversion. Keep it light, interesting, and entertaining. God bless.

There really are not very many daily prayer requests, so don't ever hesitate to ask for prayer!

I pray "that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."
Ephesians 3:16-19

@Deborah D what a perfect verse! I've had those nights where, even though life isn't inherently going "bad", the loneliness and boredom give way to alcohol creeping in to fill the void. Not knowing what God wants out of your life is always a tough one, but ask for wisdom. He gave you a gift (or gifts) for you to edify the Body of Christ and to realize your purpose in this world, so spend some time contemplating what those gifts may be. For me, it's teaching Math but, unless you're a math nerd :), it's probably something different. When I'm unsure of what I need to one day or just overwhelmed, I turn to Scripture. If your question isn't answered by reading His Word, you will at least be put at ease when you feel God's love and wisdom. I pray that you would feel the strength the God has imbued you with and use it to resist temptations that may pull at you, especially when feelings of loneliness creep in. "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to message me, as I've been there myself:praying:

Thanks for the encouragement, but I'm wondering if your post is meant for the person at the top of this thread requesting prayer. I don't drink ever as God told me to stop when I was a baby Christian in college. I do have problems fighting boredom at times. I used to tell my kids that if they are bored, they're not doing what God wants them to do....

I am going to pray that you find a hobby that is good for you. This could be sketching, wood whittling, adult coloring books, biking, anything right for you. Most hobbies require persistence so that you aren't bored with that, too, but are having enough success for it to become really fun. So I pray for persistence for you too.

I pray you will turn off the t.v. and the alcohol. Good for you that you know you should.

Thank you for the prayers. I sadly have not been able to keep clean. Last night I over drank quite a bit. I’m talking to a friend about it today and am getting him to keep me accountable on a couple things. I want to try and fast from alcohol for a month.

This strikes home. I completely get the part about struggling with living a mundane life. You wonder if your days really matter. Surely there must be more. Yes, things could be much worse, but things could also be so much more meaningful, right?

Just today I read this passage: "26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
Mark 4:26-29

God has a purpose for each of us - and He is accomplishing that purpose even when we don't see it or understand the specifics of it. The Kingdom of God is growing in and around us, even though we may not see that growth or know how He is accomplishing it. Each day matters, and God will finish what He has started. He will reap a meaningful harvest from our lives. (I hope this brings comfort.)

Lord, please be with Yuppers in a tangible way. Please reaffirm your love for Yuppers and Your purpose for His life. Please be his strength and please with your Spirit fill the empty places in his heart and mind and soul. Please cover Yuppers with your protection and steer him away from what would hinder/distract him from You. Please show him the good works you have placed in his path - the many reasons he is here on this earth. Please show him the people who need You - the people he can help guide to You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Father, may people simply see that You want righteousness out of their life, and separation from sinful living, not indulging in it. 2 Corinthians 6:17. Your answer to what You want out of this person's life is what You want out of all our lives and is found in Ephesians 5:18. Of course there is much more that You want, and it is all there for us to read in the Bible. Hard to be lonely and bored when we are talking to You as we read through Your living Word, the Bible.
