  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, AI was very bad. The thing was, I was expecting it to be bad, but the first half wasn't that bad and I thought I might have judged too soon...

Unbreakable was another hyped horrible movie.

The Others was just a 6th Sense rip off, I called the ending half way through the movie.

Dare Devil. Ben Affleck, need I say more?

Pay Check. I knew it was going to be bad when the John Woo came up in the openning credits...
Almost any Ben Affleck movie is going to be horrible in my opinion.

The Sum of All Fears was bad, not just because it had Ben Affleck in it, but that was a big part of it.

Armageddon was an ok movie, not because of Ben Affleck. Steve Buscemi, Owen Wilson, Bruce Willis, and that Russian cosmonaut saved it, just because of the humor.

I kind of enjoyed Sum of All Fears. I hated Armageddon though.
The totally butchered that book. The was book much better in my opinion.

The only movie Affleck was good in was Good Will Hunting, and that was probably because Matt Damon wrote his part for him.
Never seen that one, but that does bring to mind another really bad movie. The Bourne Identity. That just made me sick watching it. It just seemed really really dumb. That's probably because I don't really like Matt Damon though. Damon's acting just seems wooden to me.

Redneck, you're going to love this - there's a SEQUEL to Bourne Identity coming out called "Bourne Supremacy"???!!! I never saw Identity, but I know my husband would wholeheartedly agree with you on how bad it was for him, too. If the first one was so bad, why on earth would they put out a sequel? I don't get it.....

(Adding to the Affleck list: I thought "Reindeer Games" was ALSO stupid, and confusing in the end).

For me personally, "Godzilla" (with Matthew Brodderick) had a TON of hype, with numerous teasing trailers that looked so good - but we were SO disappointed - my son & I thought it totally sucked.... :(

 Yuck! That just sounds nasty!

The first one was really, really dumb. A second one sounds even worse. I borrowed it from my neighbor and did not even finish watching it. That's how bad it was.
