Human aging

I was having diner at my parents house yesterday adn my mom mentioned in passing(after reading bible verses before dinner) something about how how long Sarah had to wait for getting pregant.

This got me thinking how strange it is that people actually believe the ages given in the O.T. are real. Is there any way that people could possibly live to be over 150years old? I have seen nothing in modern medicine or biology that would indicate that we are capable of living that long even with modern medicine. What gives? It's not like one or 2 people lived a long time by some miracle. It would seem that back then everybody lived 100's of years. Any evidence that this is even possible?

In otherwords, the canopy theory. Unfortunatly most creationists have long dropped the canopy theory because of multiple problems and lack of any evidence.

a sphere is one of the "canopy" theories. The last one I read about, was complete nonsense, and claimed that the sky is blue because of fluorescing oxygen.

meh maybe your right, but they showed individuals in age 100 doing some insane stuff for those ages. Such as going swimming at age 99, althought that's 51 years short of 150, but that' quite suprising. and other stuff, just 2 lazy to print out entire article.

Actually, God limited the age in Genesis 5 before the Flood. The age was limited because "heavenly beings" were mating with human women and the offspring were supposedly immortal.

The canopy theory has been discarded by YECs for at least 15 years now. It traps heat and cooks the earth.

I am sending you this message regard of your question posted saying if there is proof that you can live up to 150 years old. I am in the medical field and yes there is proof that you can be 150 years of age. People called "lamas tibetanos" in spanish are people who practice a therapy that makes them live longer. I myself practice the therapy and is a natural therapy. It also heals disease that are chronic.

If you mean Genesis6:3 And the Lord said, "My spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be 120 years."

Gods saying that he's going to wait 120 years and then if man doesnt change his ways then God will remove his protection and a flood will destroy the earth. He's not saying their lives are limited to 120 years look after the flood people lived past 120. Even people in this century have lived past 120. As to why they lived that long I'm not sure.

True, we're not capable of living that long with modern medicine, but the research is already underway that could potentialy lead to lifespans of 400-500 years such as the research covered in this article (I don't have to tell everyone to take news reports about science with a grain of salt, right?).
