How's Vista treating ya

thanks for the advice, but the problem lies in the fact that there are no drivers for my phone at the moment(samsung a930) Verizon is saying they're releasing it in mid June, so I'm gonna hold out for a while longer before I downgrade.

Sadly enough, I just got off the phone with HP, and they tell me that I have to pay $30 to order a Vista install CD. I wonder if my Ultimate CD Key would work if I managed to grab a copy off Bittorrent.

On a somewhat seperate rant, I HATE it when companies place their tech centers in places like India(fairly positive that's where this was, I recognize an Indian accent when I hear one) just spent 45 minutes talking to these people cause they can't understand me and I can barely understand them.

Yea, I've got that update now. It's not my issue, but it "solved" my problem in a way. Lol, now any time I try to start Maple Story Vista disallows it completely ROFL. Better than killing my copy of Vista I suppose, but still kinda frustrating.

I believe my problem is linked to Vista's method of preventing "frankenbuild" copies being created that bypass validation etc. Some hackers combined parts of the Vista beta builds with the final to make a system that bypassed some Vista anti-piracy features. Microsoft didn't like this of course so they somehow coded a little gizmo that would detect "frankenbuilds". Unfortunately, Maple Story seems to trigger a false positive and puts Vista into a lock-down.

*sigh* I'm all for stopping piracy, but I sure wish these companies would get it through their heads that axing a lot of customer rights at the same time isn't the answer.
