I don't even want a funeral. I would rather my family just take the time and money and spend it on something else. Just toss my body in the woods and then head to Disneyland!
Congratulations, ma'am! You're husband is dead. What are you going to do with the insurance money?
"WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!"
Please reconsider a wake. It isn't for you, it is for the survivors. I skipped my mother's funeral - I was young, wanted to remember her alive, etc. - I had lots of trouble dealing with her death, Dad died, short (3 or 4 hours) wake and much easier time dealing with his death. The chance to see the body, if possible, makes it much easier to accept the death of a loved one. Honestly.
Interesting. I never looked at it that way before. "Science" sounds good on paper, but, yeah, a lot of bad things have been done & will be continued to be done "for science."I would prefer to be buried. I don't like the idea of my body being burned (even though I wouldn't feel it) and I would be worried about what exactly would be done with my body "in the name of science".

I'm not sure if this is a Christian myth or other cultural belief - cremating a body and scattering the ashes in the sea makes it difficult or outright impossible for a soul to gather all their remains and resurrect. This burial practice is typically done as punishment against criminals and generally anyone seen as evil or practicing evil.
This myth maybe related to the Bible verses where the dead are resurrected from their lifeless remains and their remains/bones are altogether in one place. To prevent their resurrection, they are cremated and their ashes scattered in the sea.
Not so fun fact. They've exhumed bodies that were embalmed decades later and they looked like they just been buried. It really makes you wonder how potent those chemicals are....eeeeek....Cremation. The idea of my body slowly rotting in a casket doesn't sit right with me. My grandfather felt and my father feel the same way. Almost a tradition, lol.
