It is good that you proceeded gently with him. Remember however that he obviously has a temper problem and if he can not control it, you could be in danger. Also, it is obvious that he does not respect your belief in Jesus Christ and going as far as to disrespect you in your own home with satanic gestures. This would imply to me that he is being lead by satan, if not a satanic follower. If I were you, I would either not call him back into my home, or be right upfront and tell him you did not appreciate him being disrespectful in your home and that you will not allow it in the future. Remember that great is He who is in you then he that is in the world. You can take a stand for Jesus and your faith without being mean or rude. If this does not work, then have nothing to do with him.

I remember Jim testifying how Bob and he were witnessing to a man in the hall carpark.
They invited him in to the meeting that was going on, and to receive the Holy Spirit with the
evidence of speaking in tongues.
This bloke kept saying no I can't go in there, I'll die. And his behaviour got more bizarre the longer
Jim and Bob witnessed to him about Jesus and the gospel.
Finally, the penny dropped with Jim and they laid hands on this man and prayed over him in tongues
[that is praying in the Spirit].
After about 5 minutes this man went into a spasm and started jerking about - opened his mouth and
let out a rather horrible noise. Then all was quiet.
He said thankyou, I really feel better now. I feel released. And came into the meeting.

2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man
with an unclean spirit,
8 For he said unto him, "Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit."

Psychotropic drugs in particular give opportunity for Spiritual evil to enter and control and deceive.
Also you will find that many so-called psychiatric illnesses have a "religious" component to them,
and I believe that much that is psychiatric is from Satanic influences.

Too religious to be useful for anything but legalism.
I am not speaking of any one person,but I work with the public and fellowship with many denominations.
The hour has come for the Body of Christ to confess His Glory,in our everyday life.

Thankyou for this very clear post. There is nothing more calculated, to turn people away, than univited 'religious evangelising' . As you say there must be an opening ,and also listening manner .

When is it time to Evangelize?
The Devil will not invite you this we know,but the Holy Spirit will draw people to your path at his given time.
Most of us are planters of the Gospel seed ,but The Evangelist most often brings the harvest.
I encounter people who are deep in ungodliness, and I would not want them in my home,for obvious reasons.
Through meeting with them in sports or work there is always a time for the right Word to be spoken.

I tried twice to post a picture of this hand sign and it didn't come up, so let me describe it.
The middle two fingers are folded into the palm of the hand, then the thumb across them, leaving
the index finger and the little finger pointing. These pointing fingers are equated the the horns of a
goat, which is also used as a symbol of Satan. Google it and you can see a picture of it.

This may sound dumb but I always thought it began with heavy metal rock music AC DC as I remember was using that sign in the late 70s

Last week I had a tradesman in my house, a nice local family fellow. He's been here before and told me he suffers some mild hyper disorder, and we seem to get along well enough. We've even bumped into each other down the street and had a 5 minute chat etc, without any religious/spiritual discussion.

So last week I felt to ask him if he believed in God, he said "yes but not the Jesus God". I said nothing then a few minutes later I said "I have no problem with the Jesus God, and mentioned how I notice Jesus gets blamed for the wickedness of man" which he agreed somewhat. I then mentioned how Jesus was the only man to live free from Sin.

Anyhow that conversation faded and later when he was talking to me he used the devil hand sign repeatedly even pointing at me with it as he rambled on about situations in his life because he knew I would listen, and I did until he got angry about the situation he was telling me about and was projecting it at me. I reproved him on the anger but didn't say anything about the devil hand sign which I don't at all welcome in my home or my property.

I felt he may have taken it personally so let it go, I didn't want to be too critical and noticed he's a bit of a potential loose cannon. I wonder how others would deal with this sort of thing in a Christian way without ignoring it or upsetting ?

Not sure where it originated, but there are a number of people that are involved with heavy metal, acid rock, etc. that associate themselves with Satan, so is no surprise that they use this sign.

I had never looked it up before because I had lived in Texas and didn't know it had other meanings but I had assumed this was the reason George Bush did it! Even the gesture of the middle finger is different in other countries, in Vietnam (I think, maybe Korea) it means hello!

If the archers were victorious they would raise the middle finger as a gesture of their ability with a bow.
So I suppose time and circumstances play a role in hand gesture.

I really thought it was a joke on the Devils hand signal. I followed a school bus the other day with a kid shooting me a bird and I knew what that meant but I had never in my 45 years heard of a devil jester. Thank you for posting it. Let us all pray for him, so that the OP can see the underlying causes and share materials related to them. Sometimes it is best to give such a person something to read or listen to or direct him to someone who can help him with that problem situation.

Be very leery of any kind of maintenance people coming into your home. If you've got a big dog, have it present. Be on the phone when the person shows up and maybe jokingly take a picture of the person to send, for real, to someone.

I have encountered a lot of strange maintenance people. He's making the witch's sign? Don't ever invite him back or recommend him to anyone. Christians can have a very bad habit of being plain ol' naïve.

You can pray for him all you want. At a distance.
