  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It means that if they want to enter the Glory of Heaven, they need to get on bended knee and beg for the mercy of the Risen Lamb that they sent to slaughter and Repent their sins.

The jews have defied God throughout their history and continue to do so. They have changed verses to blot out Jesus from the OT, but God foresaw this and gave us the Septuagint that they have been unable to corrupt. If they want to continue living as jews, they will have to accept Gods Just and Righteous Judgement on them.

Psalm 78:32-64

In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; in spite of his wonders, they did not believe. So he ended their days in futility and their years in terror. Whenever God slew them, they would seek him; they eagerly turned to him again. They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer. But then they would flatter him with their mouths, lying to him with their tongues; their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant. Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath. He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return. How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the wasteland! Again and again they put God to the test; they vexed the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember his power-- the day he redeemed them from the oppressor, the day he displayed his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the region of Zoan. He turned their river into blood; they could not drink from their streams. He sent among them swarms of flies which devoured them, and frogs which destroyed them. He gave also their crops to the grasshopper and the product of their labor to the locust. He destroyed their vines with hailstones and their sycamore trees with frost. He gave over their cattle also to the hailstones And their herds to bolts of lightning. He sent upon them His burning anger, Fury and indignation and trouble, A band of destroying angels. He leveled a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But gave over their life to the plague, And smote all the firstborn in Egypt, The first issue of their virility in the tents of Ham. But He led forth His own people like sheep And guided them in the wilderness like a flock; He led them safely, so that they did not fear; But the sea engulfed their enemies. So He brought them to His holy land, To this hill country which His right hand had gained. He also drove out the nations before them and apportioned them for an inheritance by measurement, And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents. Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God and did not keep His testimonies, But turned back and acted treacherously like their fathers; They turned aside like a treacherous bow. For they provoked Him with their high places and aroused His jealousy with their graven images. When God heard, He was filled with wrath and greatly abhorred Israel; So that He abandoned the dwelling place at Shiloh, The tent which He had pitched among men, And gave up His strength to captivity And His glory into the hand of the adversary. He also delivered His people to the sword, and was filled with wrath at His inheritance. Fire devoured His young men, and His virgins had no wedding songs. His priests fell by the sword, and His widows could not weep.

Well, two things here, the first sentence above have always bewildered me why God kept on blessing Jacob in such a profound way and others who committed sin after sin?

Next, I thought the Jews in Egypt was protected from all that you've written above and God's wrath only affected the Egyptians?

Hey guys, since Jesus said only way to the father is through him, what does this mean for Jews please?

remember the parable about the good shephard (jesus), the gate (heaven), and the robbers/thieves (disbelievers no matter their ethnicity)?

that parable has answered your question leaving no doubts.

All peoples are required to obey the Father whether Jew or Gentile. The obedience is by following the law (or torah) and is the terms of the covenant. Jesus is the word made flesh (torah) and his message was for people to repent (return to torah and quit sinning). By accepting Jesus, in truth, you are accepting the word (torah) and DOING IT. Penalties come only to the lawless.

Mat 15:24 And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”

The house of israel is the northern house. The house of judah is the southern house. By Jesus's words here I surmise that they won't be penalized for not believing in him as long as they are keeping the torah (which is really who he is). The house of israel was divorced while the house of judah was not. Jesus paid the penalty of the adulteress woman to buy the northern house back to the Father and thus the covenant.

Judah has paid a big penalty for disobedience, but when they turn and repent and cry out then they will be healed (along with all of Isael and those joined to her).

Deu 30:1 “And it shall be, when all these words come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you shall bring them back to your heart among all the gentiles where יהוה your Elohim drives you,
Deu 30:2 and shall turn back to יהוה your Elohim and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your being, you and your children,
Deu 30:3 then יהוה your Elohim shall turn back your captivity, and shall have compassion on you, and He shall turn back and gather you from all the peoples where יהוה your Elohim has scattered you.

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. (James 2:19, 1984 NIV)

... because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. (Hebrews 10:4)

All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” (Galatians 3:10-13, 1984 NIV)

Jews are special because God chose them (to reveal Himself to the world). But God does not save (or not) or reward (or not) people based on what God has chosen for them. It was up to the Jews to decide whether to live to receive God's blessings or curses. (Deuteronomy 28)

All people are called to recognize that without God's unearned forgiveness of sins, they are lost. God, the Father, didn't/doesn't forgive people's sins only because it is a loving thing to do. He sacrificed his Son, Jesus Christ to do so. Even if one is keeping the Mosaic Law perfectly, and loving the God of the Old Testament with all their might, they still haven't received God's gift of eternal life.

... To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions. (bold mine, Mark 12:33-34, 1984 NIV)

But he was not yet in the kingdom of God, even though he loved God and was (presumably) keeping the Law.

Which God was the man loving? The one who sacrificed Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, for the forgiveness of his sins or a God that did not?

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6, 1984 NIV)

By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, (1 Corinthians 15:2-4, 1984 NIV)

But since Jews live their lives by the book of the OT, wouldn't God reward them for this?

They should have been looking for a New Covenant as foretold by Jeremiah, because they had broken the Sinai covenant.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

The angel Gabriel brought to Daniel the timing of the New Blood Covenant of the Messiah.
It would be put in place, before the second temple was destroyed.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

The Messiah said it would be His blood that would fulfill the New Covenant, at the Last Supper.

Mat 26:28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The New Covenant would fulfill the promise made to Abraham.

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Paul says we are to cast out the Sinai covenant.

Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Gal 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

The New Covenant is "now" in effect.

Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. (The Old covenant is now "obsolete".)

Peter spoke to the house of Israel on the day of Pentecost, when 3,000 Israelites accepted the New Blood Covenant.

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Heb 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, (The New Covenant is "everlasting".)

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
(A person cannot be under the blood of the Lamb, and not be under the Grace of the New Blood Covenant.)

They cannot be living by the Old Testament, if they have rejected the New Covenant foretold by Jeremiah and found in the Book of Daniel.

Jacob Prasch is a Jewish Christian.

Hey guys, since Jesus said only way to the father is through him, what does this mean for Jews please?

Two ways ....

1) They give themselves to Christ (now)
2) Scriptures says, they shall see him who they pierced and I believe at that moment they will accept him, remember they are still God's elect.

Will a large number of Jews come to salvation on the day of Christ's Second Coming?

Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

They must be ready before He comes.

2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

He will judge the living and the dead.

Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
(This will include those who pierced Him.)

Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Act 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Act 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Act 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

About 3,000 of those who pierced him came to faith on the day of Pentecost.

We also have to ask if Christ will rebuild the middle wall of separation and become a respecter of persons on the day of His Second Coming, if He is going to make salvation dependent on bloodline.

Any sort of loopholes that might exist in scripture, none can be supported that well to the point anyone would reliably believe they are saved.

Some Jews will be saved under the covenant of the law at the end of days, those who survive the tribulation. But most would have already died in the tribulation and there is no reason to believe those Jews will enter the kingdom of heaven and eternity. But these Jews who make it through the tribulation are essentially what is Messianic Judaism today, during the tribulation they would have repented and accepted the Messiah to the point they are legitimate Jews as opposed to Jews who reject Christ the Messiah.

And there are other loopholes. If you are not responsible under God's law, then his law is unable to convict you to hell for eternity. Where there is no law, there is no transgression. (Romans 5:13). A person with no capacity has no law to condemn them and is saved by the law, not by salvation through accepting Christ.

But if you're going to argue on a forum you lack capacity, it's a pretty bad argument.

So Jesus is the only way really. God is an honest judge, and he will judge honestly, and we can be certain that all situations are accounted for. But if you are of good capacity, asking questions about Jesus and trying to rely on one of these other reasons which just may be a poor excuse, then that's not something you can have faith in. It would be salvation in-spite of faith, not salvation by faith.

Jews, if they believe in themselves for salvation, don't have faith. If they believe God will save them out of goodness, that too is wrong because God cannot transgress his own laws. They would have to believe how God will save them, in-spite of their sin, without violating justice. And then they would have to stand before God and prove their faith was sound, but it would not be sound unless it was founded on Christ. God would reveal their error and it would be shown for what it was, not what they claimed while they were alive.
