Sascha, I had the opposite experience. I work at a university (probably about the least Christian work environment possible, outside of like an occult bookstore or something) and I constantly heard, "You're so young!" while I was pregnant, at 25. I also got quite a few, "How are you going to keep working?" type questions, which just shows how out of touch academia is in the real world.

Hehe. Same here. Everyone at my church was shocked when I started going there to be married at 20. Let alone to get pregnant at 21 and have him at 22. Most think college, job, marriage, job, kids is the way things should be so I'm about 8-10 years too soon.

Some of them practically had a cow when I said I wouldn't be working until he's in school all day. "You mean you won't work until you're 28!" Uh, yeah I'll be raising my son, that will be work and I think I'll survive only getting to work outside the home from 28-65. ^_^

Everyone has different perspectives on when things should happen. I will go with what I feel is best because at the end of the day it's only up to me and my husband not anyone else.

Umm - that's what I was saying. WORK thinks I'm so young to be married (25) and tell me I'm FAR too young to think about kids yet, and should wait til I'm at least 30.

Church on the other hand kept implying I should hurry up and get married (at around 23), and hinted at me being 'old' at 25 when I did. Now there's this 'well you better get a move on' when it comes to children.

Yeah - so work thinks I'm young to be married, and would be FAR too young to consider children; and church thinks I'm starting to get past it!!! ^_^

yeah every one at my church thought I was to young to get married and to have children, but then I just laughed and reminded them that I wasn't the youngest in church having a baby or getting married, baby came well after the wedding, like 16 months.

This is all too funny. I remember some of the older members of our families soooooo relieved when I was FINALLY pregnant at 29. It really was the perfect age for both my hubby and me. I know for me, I wouldn't have been as good a mother at a younger age. I didn't have the patience or maturity I have now.

It really just depends on the individual. Some of us are better older moms and some of us are better off starting young.
