This was in response to a previous assertion that ancient civilizations did not recall the Flood.
In nearly every culture of the world there is a flood legend, with many of the same elements as found in the biblical account such as an ARK, animals saved by two, eight human survivors, four couples, a father and his three sons and their wives, three stories to the Ark, A year on the Ark, Forty days of Rain, Sending out animals, even specific birds, often doves to check the conditon of the ground.
Cultures with Flood Legend include Scandinavians, Polynesians, Native American Tribes by the dozens, Other Pre-columbian Western Hemisphere cultures, as well as Orientals, Africans, and European. These flood legends pre-date the influence of Christian Missionaries.
The only answer from Anthropologists that I have ever heard is "It can't refer to the Flood of the Bible."
