I was wondering how many people here ar not affiliated or attend Southern Baptist Churches. I don't have a problem with Southern Baptists, i just know that there a huge denomination. And i was curious to see what other types of Baptist are represented in the Baptist forums. So feel free to say what group you belong to. Me personal all of the Baptist Churches Ive attended have been Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches. Which consists of churches from Nova Scotia, new Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island and is the largest baptist denomination in Canada.

Hey, another Canuck!

I know it's kinda off topic, but I'm curious what "other" political party you guys vote for. :) (we're pretty limited out here in the west, and there aren't even many Conservatives to vote for. I'd vote Reform Party, but there are none in my area.).

Go Canada go! Go Canada go! Hooray, Canada!

I vote along libertarian lines. As far as I know the Reform party is now officially no more.

Bummer. Not really surprised though. We get to choose between Liberal, NDP, and Green here. That's pretty much it for most elections. :(

PS Ya, go Canada! :D

Out here east here Its basically Liberal, Conservative, and NDP. I have other listed as political affiliation because i consider myself moderate. I try not to support one party but when elections happen i evaluate the candidates as they are for that election and don't vote because of predisposition to one party.

In my riding there's usually not a Libertarian candidate, so I also most often evaluate each candidate as an individual to see whose views most seem to align with my own. Really I believe in voting for the individual more than voting for the party.

I go to Falwell's church (Thomas Road), which is dually affiliated with the SBC and Bible Baptist Fellowship Intl(fundamentalist). I think it didn't affiliate with the SBC until 98 or 99.

I was baptized in an SBC church, but my mother goes to an independent Baptist church that I visit with her occasionally.

Southern Baptist isn't a denomination. It is a convention of Baptist churchs.

A collection of Baptist churches who collectively (and without a central leader except for Christ) make sunday school literature and mission efforts both foreign and domestic.

Granted there are some similarities between churches in organization and how things operate inside a church who is a member of the SBC...but no one tells them they have to. Each SBC church is independent of the other churches.
