How long do you think.....

Many English translations of the Bible, specifically the Old Testament use the word Jehovah, which is the phonetic rendering of the Hebrew tetragrammaton, JHWH (sometimes also transliterated as Jahweh). It cannot be translated, so it has been frequently transliterated as Jehovah. Other translations use the word LORD in it place, although it becomes confusing because there is a perfectly adequate Hebrew word which is also translated as Lord. I prefer Jehovah because it indicates to me where JHWH actually is used.

In any event, Jehovah was around a long time before the JW's absconded with that name.

hello MamaZ Thanks for the reply.

I assumed you are a Jehovah's witness simply because your Bible quotes Jehovah a couple of times. I didn't think this was an accident. Most folks don't call God Jehovah unless they mean it. Sorry if I'm confused. I'm wondering why you'd quote from a JW's Scripture if you aren't one. Where you at one time?

As for your question, yes I do have sins. I think everyone does. I'm no saint. I've only met a few folks in my life who I think would qualify for that. Most of the folks I know struggle to keep ahead of themselves in the sin department. I would be suspicious of anyone who said they weren't a sinner! That would make them one of two things either delusional or a saint.

I've heard some folks say they believe everyone is a saint who does thus and so, or believes something or the other, but I'm inclined to believe that it ain't that simple. If it were that simple, Christ could have wrapped up His ministry a lot sooner than the three years it took! LOL.

Peace and all good,

Gail
I love the names of God. As explained above by bbbbbbb we see His names being used.
Have you done a study on the names? It is a wonderful study.

A saint is one whom has been called and chosen of God with Christ rightousness and one of their own. This is why I asked why you have sins to atone for. Christ died for your sins and when one is in Him they are a new creation.
