How important is respect and obedience in a wife?

Paul says women should be obedient to their husbands just as we are all obedient to the Lord. And I suspect that is often the case.

Very important for the wife.
Don't get too excited men because,
you are told to love your wife
as Christ loved the church.
That will take a while.

I am understanding more and more how to submit to my husband. I think our culture forces women to feel that they have to compete with men, especially in a relationship. It’s seen as a good thing in the US when a woman rebels. Now I work on listening and being submissive. Being submissive is an art of humility. I find my relationship is better when i don’t fight to be right. I try to be
quick to listen. It has taken a lot of pressure off of my marriage and ultimately I’m working on my professional relationships. It makes me feel safe to have a man over me.
