Are you sure this is not all simply confusing the power of positive thinking with a fictitious universal force called the Law of Attraction? Positive thinkers also LOOK CONFIDENT which is very attractive to other people. Positive thinkers are better motivational go getters also, so their chances of success in general will be greater.

Negative thinkers are glass half empty people, so the positive thinkers will notice everything good that falls into their laps, whereas the negative thinkers will not.

Also, you said rich & famous people tend to promote this, which are people who have tons of excesses falling onto their laps. Has the guy who went to Hollywood with big dreams, and who had positive expectations to succeed but failed miserably, and now works at Walmart (still happy & positive perhaps) written a book on LOA? How many people are positive thinkers from poverty stricken areas who have written books on this?

This is selective reporting. There are TONS of positive thinkers who are constantly finding coal in their stockings. And let’s totally raise the bar, disease & death are much worse than material success. You can’t possibly believe that positive thinkers don’t get sick & die early do you? Now positive thinkers will heal better because your immune system is stronger if you’re a positive thinker...but again this is confusing the power of positive thinking with some Jedi force.

Celebrities, mystics, and self-help gurus believe that the Universe gives us the power to build our own reality through the type of thoughts we have whether positive or negative. It may sound far fetched but I see them and others giving accounts that this type of stuff works. Now I mentioned earlier on these forums that I am gullible so I can be easily duped especially if strange unexplained things happen to me. So because of this I believe their claims more than some others on here might. Again I willingly accept Christ without any problem, but the larger dilemma is if this mystical theory of LOA has any basis in reality.

Also you said if I'm confusing LOA with the power of positive thinking. Well I will tell everyone on these forums including you Dirk that the mystics, gurus, self-help people, and celebrities take it to a much greater extreme that its almost like its out of a fairy tale. They claim that through the power of thought we can literally effect the direction this world is heading in as well as shape reality in multiple ways. Dirk that is a much more extreme point of view then the conventional belief of positive thinking. However LOA promoters say that that is the truth. Now there are divided points of view on how true any of this is so to be honest I dont know how true it is. I just have to trust Christ without over-complicating my fears about some mystical law that may not have any basis in the real world. I'm just a superstitious person so this stuff can scare me.

And they are wrong.

God is in charge of the universe, and God operates the way that the Bible says He does.

Don't be fooled by false, anti-Christian lies.

I have no doubts about that. Look at scientology. How intensely people choose to believe in something doesn't translate into proof of it's accuracy though. And I still say we are dealing with a case of selective reporting here. It makes total sense that the successful people would be the advocates of this belief, but that you would not know about the non-successful people (because it obviously didn't work for them).

This is what's behind 'The Secret,' I know several people who believe in it and they haven't moved an inch on the ladder of success. So, I should clean up what I said, even if you fail to make this belief happen, many people will still continue to believe it...however these people will not be the ones writing books since their life doesn't confirm the accuracy of the theory. Then of course you'll have the people who say that it hasn't worked for them and abandon the belief.

One of the major take aways from being a Christian is that this SHOULD NOT scare you! For the sake of argument let's even say that some of these people are dialed into a type of Satanic power. Well if that is true then the spiritual realm that they are dealing with would be effecting the chess board of reality with mostly pawns. Whereas Christ would be effecting that chess board with rooks, and queens. Followers of Christ are taught not to fear the fight that belongs to the Lord.
