None of my business, but where did you hear that explanation? was it from an educated person?

If so, what made you adopt it?

I've not adopted it, I think it was from I'm sorry that I first heard about it...its a flat earther thing I think...

I have seen Flat Earth documentaries where Flat Earthers claim that when the governments discovered the dome, they attempted to shatter it via atomic bombs camouflaged as tests but to no avail.

Sorry! my bad!

I thought you were talking about that solid brass dome that scientists believe the Bible talks about.

I've said this before, and it bears repeating:

If I lived next door to someone who interprets the Bible like scientists do, I'd be concerned for my safety.

Not sure about the brass part but I do know that Flat Earthers believe that it restricts mankind to the Earth. So that would preclude building things beyond its altitude.

So in your opinion, its not something solid that can't be penetrated?
Right.

Others rely on goofy pictures like this:

... and ... well ... that's why they think the Bible is a myth.

How big would the hole have to be to get rid of the atmosphere via vacuum suction in the way he describes?
LOL. Since the entire surface of the earth is open to the vacuum of space a few miles up, size does not matter. You just have to get rid of gravity.

Ya ... no wonder my vacuum cleaner doesn't work: I forgot about gravity.

Because you can get through the firmament into supposed vacume

So there are no comunication satellites in space, even though you have live news reports from across the world on TV every night. I am old enough to remember when, via sattelite, live television pictures from the other side of the English Channel arrived in Britain for the first time. A big thing that was.

You have no answer to that of course, and so, as usual, you will just go and find a convenient pile of sand you can bury your head in.
