Not to a answer for another person, but what you don't understand is that this is done at one's baptism in various churches. In Orthodoxy, chrismation (think confirmation/laying on of hands- via chrism/blessed oil) is part of baptism.
The priest anoints the recipient with chrism, making the sign of the cross on the forehead, eyes, ears, nostrils, breast, back, hands and feet using the following words each time: "The seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Of course- it doesn't have to be done immediately along with baptism- though that is the standard practice. It is sometimes separated- as in my case.
I can look directly to the book of Revelation and see the opposite of the holy mystery of Chrismation with the Mark of the Beast.
