How do you witness?

I make friends with someone. I learn to love them the way they need to be loved. What I say has no credibility whatsoever. I have only directly led (obviously w/ God's leading) one person to Christ online. I have led one to Christ in real life. I have been a part of many coming to Christ though. Our church's main focus is on evangelism so it's almost a natural thing for me. With the girl online, I was pretty laid back. I would talk to her about what was going on in my life church wise and then let her ask questions. I prayed faithfully that God would place strong Christians in her life other than me. He did so in a major major way. I am always up front with who I am and what I believe but I think prayerfully about how that person needs to hear such things.

There are really a lot of ways to witness. The most important way I think is to act like Christ. If you tell other people about Christ, but don't act like Him, that doesn't give them much to believe in. If you can show them your light rather than just talking about it, that goes a long way. At least it has in my experience. Over the Internet, I'm not sure. I have never really had to do that.

The best thing to do is be Christ like in your posts and other communication and pray for a strong christian influence to come into that persons life (real physical life off the net)
Answering questions is a good thing to do, making sure that you understand the question and the answer to it yourself.
Talk about your own life and how Your walk with Christ is going. This may lead to questions. I have noticed that some do not care at all about this and just end the conversation or even connection with you at all. These people are not ready to hear the message.

First, in my opinion, witnessing is showing Gods love to another person with the intent of bringing them to Christ.
Second, I am a biker and in prison ministries so I witness to the unloved "low lifes" of the world. I find that when a person is at the pinnacle of their life they think why do I need God but when you find them in prison or in the gutter drunk out of their mind showing a little love and respect for them goes a long way and shows who God really is.
Third, I have no clue. I can't seem to get that far with people over the internet. It is just too impersonal for me.

You can witness in two ways. The first is through your actions an example of this would be caring for the suffering, like the homeless or the sick. The second way is through your words an example of this would be preaching. I find that people only listen to my witnessing words when they proceed my witnessing actions.

Peace-
