How do you start a fire

Buy a dozen or so of those BiC lighters.

If you have reading glasses, you can use them if it is a sunny day.

You can prepare a tinder bundle, then use a Fire Piston to ignite an ember. I watched several video of these device in use, but have yet to get and try one. Wouldn't want to depend on one in an emergency though.

I buy "fatwood" fire starters from 'Plow and Hearth'.

I have been buying 4 generic "Sterno" canned heat items at the Piggly Wiggly every time we go. Designed for camping and such, they are excellent for cooking. They are only a buck each. We got ab out 60 of them now.

We also buy the cheap cigarette lighters in packs of 10.
Consider using a flint propane torch lighter.
You can start fires with a magnifying glass.
