Do you pronounce Vasco da Gama in the English way or the Portuguese way?

In Portuguese the name seems to sound this way:

"vashku the yama"

In Latin, it would be kee-keh-row, kind of...in Italian, I would say Chee-che-row with a rolled R and the hard CH sound. Otherwise I would say Sis-e-row.
