How do you get on American Idol?!!

Now, please, no lectures about how being on there "isn't the best way to become a singer" whatnot. I want to get on there.. I can't find out how to anywhere! And I want to know how to see when they come to my area.. Please help..

I remember seeing something about it on the website when they started going around for the current show. The link to the site is http://www.idolonfox.com/. I don't think you can get on this show now.

Yea, it's too late now.. They held the auditions back in August for the season that is showing on TV now.

i have this theory about all these idol shows

first they pick contestants who will likely win

then they pay some ppl of the street big bucks to act dumb on the show

then the show airs! :o

If you think about it...thousands and thousands of people try out at each location and there are multiple locations ... Now you KNOW there has to be more good singers than there are on the show...which tells me that talent isnt enough...some people I know can sing their heads off but that doesnt necisarilly mean they will get on. I'm sure they turn down a buuunch of people who can sing...thats why when you try out you have to be different somehow...thats why so many people dress weird or have some aspect that stands out. If you try out...try to stand out and good luck! Maybe the Christian prospect would be the different aspect you are looking for...sing only Christian music or something...Or that may be what causes them to turn you down in todays world...but thats a different topic for a different thread.

Yes, there are probably thousands who go to be on the show. I imagine they have to fill out forms and the first group of people are picked from that so that the place doesn't get flooded with a thousand and a half people. So Simon and them probably only see about 250-300 people out of all the people who turn in applications.

Ok, I've decided to stop thinkin about the big stuff and sing for fun and if opportunity comes up in the future, then nifty, if not, fine.

American Idol isn't the way to go if you wanna be professional. That takes a lot of work and dedication.
