Confronting it and finding a resolution is the best option. If you let it go for too long it festers and grows to a point where it explodes and becomes completly out of control. Have your fights now while you are a little mad but have enough control to not be stupid and you can recover and repent to eachother and move on. If you ignore it for too long your relationship may never recover. I don't like conflict but it has to be done sometimes.

I think that it depends what they are enforcing. In some cases that harder they try to enforce things that more there is a black market for it...and thats not cool.
