So . . . @MeGuy > how do we express love to a narcissistic materialistic dictatorial person? This can be good to know, because any of us might be acting like this, at times, even if we can share in a sensitive and considerate relationship with a special someone. I offer how God's word says to have "longsuffering" in our relating >She thinks efforts and gestures are a pointless, waste of time, money, etc. She's a materialist and narcissistic self idolater, so in her mind, it's her (dictated) way or else. So I suppose love is like a language, mutually understood by both parties.

"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)
Because even a really loving person can at times get the wrong way, somehow . . . I think this means. So, because our Father knows this about us, He is saying that even with our most special people, have "longsuffering" always ready. And our good example can help to get someone back to loving . . . to restore the person > Galatians 6:1.
Also, what if we have a person who is not in a mutually tender and caring and forgiving relationship with us? Can we express love to that person, even if he or she even is incapable of expressing love?
I would say so. And it can be by our good example, showing how we stay ready for love, all the time. And we show the person how to be, how to relate, so the person can get effected by our example. Of course, as a Jesus person I understand this means how God is able to spread how I am, to make the other person become the same way. How we really are inside ourselves can indeed be what we are spreading to make others the same way, including our children.
And 1 Peter 3:1-4 to me shows how housewives can by their good example help ornery men discover how to love.
