  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

make nightgowns out of fleece??? I know very little about sewing and patterns are not my friends...My daughter is in need of warmer nightwear and I thought Christmas would be the perfect time...even if I do have to hand stitch!

Sooooooo can anyone tell me the basics to sewing long sleeves? I think I get the basic concept of the front and the back but how the heck do I attach long sleeves...Everything I've sewn thus far has been sleeveless..

Any and all :help: appreciated :)

Hi, I am am Ley's hubby but I have done some sewing and made my wife a trouser suit many years ago.

Long (or short) sleeves are quite easy if you think about it.Make up the sleeve as the pattern. and turn rightside out.Sew back and front of body together and turn inside out. Place sleeve into armhole and pin into place.(this will almost certainly not fit exactly, so the sleeve (probably) will need to be puckered up abit - eased!-in to fit all the way round).Pin at the seams and at the top so that it does not screw round as you go. Ease in one half then the other.

Machine round the armhole.:)
