How do I "stimulate", my Evolution? I can be stimulated to embrace the theory, but what next?

With technology, infant mortality will reach zero. That is the direction we have been heading for a century.

But infant mortality can never reach zero. It's impossible.

And what does this have to do with Gottservants deluded comments about stimulating evolution?

People gain credibility by you challenging them.
People don't respond to nonsense posts.

What about your proclivity to err against the individual? If one were to practice ignoring the Evolution of the individual, one would understand Evolution more?
You are mixing metaphors.

Give it some thought.

Hi there,

So, yes, a basic basic concept for you: you have the theory, but how do you "stimulate" the Evolution that the theory makes you aware of?

Scripturally speaking, we study the scriptures.

Meditatively speaking, we practice meditation.

Instinct grows, if it is practiced - it stands to reason that "Evolution" would require a specific (unique?) exercise of instinct (for specifically "Evolutionary" instinct to "grow").

I'm not asking something hard: race car drivers, race; but they also visualize the race, to hone their skills (which is better survival as a race care driver, but not as a direct consequence of choosing to be a race car driver).

You seem to have fallen for the more poetic of documentary narratives. They speak as though evolution is guided, but they are not specific how. They talk as though evolution had a will of its own, and they marvel that it happened in just a few million years. They talk as though adaptation was a matter of the will, or proclivities, when the principle actually involved is simple survival of the fittest.

We do have a will, and intelligence to help us to adapt to our changes, and we are pretty good at it. But that adaptation is by putting on more clothing, finding new ways to grow food, etc— not chromosomal. True, those less willful and less intelligent are more likely to die, and thus not as likely to pass on their genetic information, but the individual's honing of skills has nothing to do with genetic mutation.

To stimulate your evolution, take a population of about 4 or 5 hundred of you, and isolate them from the rest for a few hundred generations.
This population will interbreed within itself, but will remain genetically isolated from the larger population.
PS, this does not require any awareness of the theory.

Answer this question:. How can you believe in God and evolution? That's impossible.
First of all, we so not "believe in" evolution. We accept it based on the evidence.
Second, there is nothing about accepting evolution that precludes believing in God, or Elf, or Hobgoblin.

How about personal development rather than "evolution". Evolution is too long term, too broad. But we as individuals CAN develop, grow, mature, progress, transform, awaken.

How?

Jesus said it best, "Die to self." It sounds like a contradiction. But he is talking about the narrow egotistic self we all start with. we need to evolve from that into a more solidarity frame of mind and attitude toward the world. It is not "me and you" or even "us and them", but but all of us as one in Christ including nonbelievers who can't yet see it.

Practice selflessness, kindness, generosity and love especially when it seems most difficult. Die to self. Make that the moment by moment awareness.

Not at all.

God simply uses evolution as a means.

Unless you are stuck with a literal interpretation of Genesis. Then we have a problem.

It's an illogical question. By definition, evolution is entirely random. You cannot evolve. You are what you are, if evolution is true. Some genetic abnormalities may pass to your progeny. By some astounding and inexplicable chance, that abnormality may be beneficial. By some even more astounding and even less explicable chance, a new creature may result. And by an even more amazingly astounding, mind boggling coincidence, another creature of the other gender may evolve at the same time and in the right physical location. I think I'll buy a lottery ticket. I have to be the winner!

Nope. Evolution is not totally random. That is a claim that only one that doesn't understand it would make.

Really? No one can explain the mechanism to me satisfactorily. "It just so happens" is not an explanation.

It appears that the fault is on your side. No one has ever claimed that it just happens for example.

You appear to be forgetting that natural selection is the opposite of random.

I will take this up with you, later - Lord willing.

In the meantime, focus on a question like this: "of all the Evolutions that have occurred throughout history, which one do you most prefer (above all the others)?"
Frogs.

No, and I thank you to not try and psychoanalyze me.
Well that would happen even without your permission. I'll work at keeping you in the dark then. No point in me being honest.
