• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Its me again. Im 27 and suffering from serious mental retardation. When I was in 6 grade a kid starting beating me up everyday for 2 weeks and it hurt and I dont know why he did it. How do I forgive him. I got so mad at him in my heart.

Well there's a spiritual side of this we need to consider. The Bible does say, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:12

Wrong spirits can motivate others to do things of an evil way too. It's helped me in forgiving others, that is flesh and blood people who have done me wrong to know that in a sense they were like mere puppets of forces beyond themselves.

Knowing this that at least opens the door for me to sincerely pray for a person who has done me wrong realizing in a sense that they were being taken advantage of as well. Sometimes people who are doing crazy unkind things it's not always they who are or were the originators of the thoughts to do so.
